Re: 3 months home confinement - not enough time...
I'm so sick of the increase in gear pirates and decrease in adequately prosecuting them. It costs victims far MORE than the cost of a lost pot (time, gas, traffic, shopping crowds etc) to replace lost gear. To minimize theft, I attach water activated blue and white LED lights on flagged crab buoy st...

Re: North Snoco Fishing Buddies Male or Female Okay
Hello. I haven't been receiving any responses via email until today. Have you done any fishing lately? It's been pretty cold out but there are diehards willing to occasionally brave the elements.

Just to be on the safe side, I'd ask the game warden if you can keep an amputee.

Re: Columbia River camping?
You mean stealth camping at places like Walmart? I'd rather not to be a Wal-Martyr if there's safe affordable camping near by. Public or private property camping. We are a responsible van campers group. Self-sufficient, no drama. You mentioned sturgeon fishing up north ie, general location? Any sugg...

I'm an ardent fan of KP. Been going there over 25 years. So you were a park ranger aka surrogate game warden at KP? *lol* It's a great park. We might hit the pier soon

Re: Squidding starting?
There are different colored LED Diamond drop lights that are water activated. They are sealed. Some flash, some don't. No batteries or generators required. Very reasonable online via Amazon. LED's shine super bright, are affordable and no hassle

Re: Squidding starting?
I'm squid illiterate. Isn't squidding more productive at night? We fish and crab off the pier at Kayak Point park and have unintentionally pulled some squid in which I chunk up for bottom fishing bait. The pier's open from 7am to dusk and is located next to the boat launch. Less traffic hassle than ...

Re: Halibut seasons announced
Excellent advice Larry. There's much I don't know yet eager to learn. I've never caught anything bigger than halibut in the 35lb range in Alaska. I have though, cleaned barn door sized halibut that others caught. Haven't fished for halibut yet here in Washington. This is a great website! ((((Fish On...

I too, would like to find an affordable place for our camper van group to stay. I've never fished the lower Columbia for sturgeon. Any advice where to camp or fish (that isn't Grand Central) appreciated. We're north in the toolies *lol*

Re: Looking for a lever drag level wind reel
Hello mustang65fbk and welcome. When it comes to star drag reels, I used to use words I probably shouldn't *lol* That is until I tried a Mitchell Riptide reel on an Okuma Tundra pole. I truly like the Riptide. It's the only star drag level wind that doesn't drive me bananas. I also use a Penn Captiv...

Paper reports Trout up to 20" in Goodwin
At one time I lived on Goodwin. It was chock full of bass. Would like to fish it again sometime but am limited to a small row boat. Goodwin's too unpredictable for a boat that small. We used to fish the 7 lakes often using pop gear. Am a stone's throw from the confluence of the Stilly

Re: WDFW planting some jumbo's in 3 Skagit Lakes
We would like to meet other responsible fishermen (w/a boat) who fish Baker lake or Skagit lakes or Marine Area 8-2 on a regular basis. It's me and a friend. We have our own gear and can chip in reasonably or provide a full lunch and snacks. Pleasant personality, clean background. Please be okay wit...

Re: Want to fish!!!
We are still looking for responsible people with a boat to fish 8-2 or local lakes with. We have our own gear, can bring a full lunch and snacks or chip in reasonably. Am a respectful smoker. In north Snoco near the Stilly. Prefers early morning fishing.

I'm a big fan of inline fuses on anything. Glad it wasn't more serious. Nice barn door halibut in your photo. Where caught?

Steelhead Fishing Buddies
Hello. We're up by the confluence of the Stilly river and although I'm certainly not the resident authority on catching steelies, I prefer bobber dogging for them when river fishing. Fishing and camping along the Skagit and Cascade rivers is also nice. Great scenery. As for lakes, am a big fan of Ba...

Bryant Lake's definitely is a good one. It's off Hwy 9 up by one of our favorite rainbow lakes. We live close to the confluence of the Stilly. Cavanaugh's close by as well and had a productive year for kokanee

Request for Boat Camping Link?
I realize there's a "Where to Camp" link but was wondering if you would consider adding a link that is specifically for boat camping? I've put posts on your camping link to little avail or interest. Surely there must be some boat campers this idea may appeal to? One of our favorite places for fishin...

Area 9 Likely To Open January 16th.
How did the area 9 opener go? I've got cabin fever soooo bad to fish but no salt boat :-({|= *lol* Can't wait for Skagit county spring time fishing! This year, fishing-related camping trips at Baker and along the Skagit. Bought a camper van in early winter last year. Getting it ready for this year's...
