The agony of losing "the big one."
Hey there, I know it's been a while since I've posted on here, but life is crazy between work, work at home and family. I'm posting this for two reasons. One, I think it will be therapeutic. Two, Maybe you guys have similar stories to the one I will share. I've been extremely lucky to have landed so...

Fishing the Cowlitz at Packwood (please help!)
I don't always like to ask for help, but when I do, I need a lot of it! First and foremost, my plan of attack is to fish the Cowlitz River with some buddies around Packwood (I guess the title probably gave that away, lol). I'm still an armature to both salmon fishing and river fishing (yes, double w...

Mirror Lake (Kittitas County) Golden Trout
The title says it all. Has anyone on this forum ever fished Mirror Lake for Golden Trout? The WDFW shows that there were 750 planted in 2013, 570 in 2012 (and so on). I'm assuming these fish would be sizable to catch by now. The hike into this lake is very short (just over a mile), so I'm sure it do...

Re: What is considered a "big" or "trophy" crappie?
Thanks for all the input guys! And trust me Trackerpro, I won't be getting used to that size anytime soon. The other one I caught was .92lb. I did not measure it. I guess for a complete rookie on Crappie, you could say "beginners luck."

What is considered a "big" or "trophy" crappie?
Hey there, I'm always targeting bass this time of year, but always end up catching some Crappie along the way. My Crappie experience is very limited -- just coincidental since I am not targeting them. I've caught maybe thirty Crappie my entire life, never anything that was "big." Today while fishing...

Re: 2017 Not Quite Trophy But Still Nice Bass Pictures Galle
The bite is SUPER SLOW so far this season. We've had way too many cold days for them to moving into the shallows for spawning, but I did catch this guy on March 31.

Re: General Surf Fishing tactics
That's awesome! You did very well! And thanks for the information as well. It is something to put in the memory banks for next time. I only chose to fish one day, but that happened to be the day of the windstorm. It was some insane wind, and the blowing sand actually hurt. Needless to say, trying to...

asdf.jpg Hey Quadfather! Great stuff!!!! You answered all my questions, and the video was incredibly informative. Doing a google earth view of where I'm at, there is a series of rocks in addition to normal sandy beach. I'm going to post a picture of that. Based on the picture, should I attempt thes...

General Surf Fishing tactics
Hey guys, For the first time in seven years (since I acquired a mortgage), I am finally able to take a vacation to the beach [thumbsup] My wife, two dogs and I will be staying at a beachfront hotel in Lincoln City. As I know most of you can relate, going somewhere with water is torture if o...

Re: Bass Replica/ taxidermist/ NEED HELP!!!
Hey thanks guys for all your replies. At least I know that I'm not the only one that has found themselves in this situation. Arnie, I will check out your recommendation and see how much money that might set me back -- And, even if I can't get this fish mounted, I'm still happier knowing she's still ...

Bass Replica/ taxidermist/ NEED HELP!!!
Hey guys, I'm adamant about catching and releasing the big ones, and making sure they are well handled before releasing them -- especially during the spawn. That said, I've got a delima and would really like some feedback! As you may have seen, I caught my personal best last week, and am very excite...

Re: 2016 "Trophy Bass Pictures" Gallery
Personal Best Largemouth. It seems the prespawn and spawn is happening early this year in Eastern Washington, on account of quite a few days in the sixties, and lows staying above freezing. My new personal best blows my previous one out of the water by almost a pound. This one weighed 7.41 pounds on...

Re: New Lake to add
In addition, I have absolutely no problem writing up the description of the lake, fish species, pictures of the lake, how far of a hike and directions there, etc. I can do all of that for you.

New Lake to add
Hey guys, I fished Deer Lake, a 4.2 mile hike in Yakima County, located on White Pass, north on the Pacific Crest Trail. It contains Eastern Brook and some nice Cutthroat. I had a really fun day and would like to report on it, but it's not in the data base. I submitted something earlier in the year ...
