Got a great boat for sale. Yamaha 150 w/ only 69 hours on it. Primarily used for fishing to easy riding on the motor. Been kept in the garage when not on the water.

Preferred Jig Line

Curious what kind of line folks throw on the jig rods. I have a rod w/ 50# braid for the thick-n-nasty stuff.. pads, grass mats, etc. but for open water w/ light structure, mostly sandy bottom what would a recommended line type and test be? I've been using 10# mono and fluoro but wondering if I shou...

Re: Potholes Water Level

This time of year, temps, etc what depth would you expect to find fish? I'm headed out there Friday and would like to better my last outing.

Wondering if anyone has any insight to fishing Banks this time of year. Is it worth the 2hr trip? This'll be my first time in it, so just wondering what y'all might think...

Trailer Question

I just got a new boat/trailer a couple months ago and have been working through a couple kinks. One of them is my trailer. When I throw the truck into reverse, I have to place that key into it's slot which enables me to back it up. I dropped the boat off to get it's initial service and apparently th...

Lowrance Elite 7 HDI problem

Here's a little back story... Last spring my father-in-law and I took off to Lake Powell in his boat to chase stripers for a week. He had just spent a fair amount of money in a new unit...the Lowrance Elite 7 HDI. We hit the lake and hit our local spots. Most of these areas the depths ranged from 10...

Re: Fluorocarbon vs Mono

Maybe someone in the area or on base can show you how to tie a Polomar knot, there is a couple ways. If you can find the vid by Marc Marcantonio it'll help a lot. In the vid he shows you how to move the loop and place it over/ahead of the knot and it's stronger that way. The vid might be on Youtube...

Fluorocarbon vs Mono

I'm wondering how many of you use fluorocarbon or mono for drop shotting? I've been tying a palomar knot with both mono and fluorocarbon and testing their ability to hold the true tensile strength. What I've found is the mono snaps away from the knot while the fluorocarbon snaps (much easier) at the...

Re: Winter bass fishing??

Saw this post and it got me to thinking... what's this abnormal weather doing to our fish on the east side of the state? I can't believe we don't have snow on the ground out here around Spokane. Anyone been out on the lakes with any luck lately?

Re: jig head vs texas rig

Thanks for all the info guys. I appreciate y'all sharing the info with me. I'll be sure to check out those baits.. They seem like they'd be pretty effective. Do you guys get out and hit the lakes this time of year or simply wait for Spring to roll around?

Re: jig head vs texas rig

GENERALLY speaking, in bass fishing there is no absolute, other than the Bass WILL suprise you, the worm will catch more fish, the jig will catch bigger fish. Yes it depends on the lake. Thanks for the input. What sort of plastics would you throw on a jig head? I guess I was assuming you'd throw a ...

jig head vs texas rig

I'm curious as to what people prefer... jig head or texas rig? I'm assuming there's a time and place for either, but not quite sure as to when one would out perform the other. The reason I ask is this will be my first year really getting out after bass on large lakes and I'm trying to set up a varie...

Re: Preferred Family Tent???

Thanks for the suggestion, my daughter is only 10 months old so she's not quite to that age to be able to be on her own. I like that idea for the years to come though! Jerkbaits

My father-in-law, who lives in S. California, swears by jerkbaits. I'm curious if anyone around these parts use em and how well they work. I'm new to the area and am trying to build up a good variety to my arsenal and wondering if it'd be worth my time to invest in em. From most of the information I...

Re: Preferred Family Tent???

I can't do one of the truck tents because I've got a Leer canopy on my F-150. I don't plan on taking that thing off every time I plan taking the family out for the weekend. I've thought about simply using the canopy as a place to stay but the problem there is there's not enough room for the family. ...
