Compass Install

Ever been lost in the fog? I have, and It sucks!! Luckily it burned off after a few hours and I found my way. It did turn a would be 3 mile paddle into a 12 mile paddle though... This would have all been avoided with a compass. Since that day I've been running GPS/sonar combo units, but the harsh tr...

Re: Drop shot set ups?

Good to know octopus hooks work as well, save some $ buying drop shot hooks for awhile. I forgot to mention. Tie that octopus hook with a Palomar knot, then run the tag end back through the eye and pull it straight after the knot is complete. This will make the hook stand out properly. otherwise it...

Re: Drop shot set ups?

I like a light weight fast action graphite rod with 10lb Power Pro for my main line, and a 6-8lb fluoro leader with a #2 octopus hook. Wednesday's seminar was interesting since it was the first of three, and being a new venue/format for me. Thanks to the 12 people who came mid week for being my guinea pigs...

Re: Lingcod

Ling, cabs, and the occasional greenling will take on that blue color. Same as some chinook will have white flesh. It has nothing to do with their diet. It's the way that individual processes the food it eats. The blue is actually a bile in the blood. Some people claim that blue bottom fish, and whi...

Re: NEW MEMBERS - INTRODUCE YOURSELF!

Yes, I remember on Summit. We chatted on the report part on the comments. Hopefully I will see you at the show! But right now I don't recall last season. I'm not surprised. You were selling a few lures and it was brief. I was there with Tony and a couple others on the edge of early morning darkness...
