Re: Rock Lake dangers

Hi all, sorry that I don't visit much but I moved to Louisiana recently and just got on to see how everyone was doing. First, the Spokesman Review is pretty lame. Most of their fishing reports are re-worded or outright plagiarism from reports directly off this and other sites. Most of the rest of wh...

Re: Winter bass fishing??

Hi guys, sorry but now that I live in Louisiana, I don't get on much. Still, I wanted to chime in on this one. I must disagree that you cannot catch big bass through the ice. It is just not true. When I lived in Northern Utah, I had a spot on Deer Creek Reservoir that produced LMB over 5 pounds ever...

Re: Trout jumping like crazy, but seemingly not for food?

Verry little. Many years ago my youngest came up with it as a combo of my competition archery and bow hunting plus my addiction to all fishing.

Bow hunting still happens, competition done, fishing 3 day after I am dead.

Re: Spokane Area FLy Fishing

Not a lot of great fly fishing in the Spokane area, but ........ great is a matter of opinion anyway. Upper Spokane River is ok early in the year and after the water temps go down. The spring from Barker to below Sullivan Bridges hold some good fly fishing opportunity. Silver Bow can tune you into t...

Hmmmmm, first post, poor grammar, overstating the truth to the max.

Do I smell a troll on the site??????

"I have used a with a good camera to see dangled Hooks, Flies ,baits, in there jaws badly". POST THEM, let us judge the truth in what you say?

Re: river wading for smallmouth

Include the Grande Rounde below Troy Oregon to the Snake River and also include the Upper Spokane River from the dam in Post Falls Idaho to Plants Ferry. Grande Rounde had the biggest river SMB in my opinion, but watch the snakes along the shore during the summer. You did say wading, so keep to wadi...

Re: powerbait vs. lures or flies

Not surprised at all. I have done similar with corn. WA says that the fish swallow bait too often and it usually kills released fish. Other states do not agree. We live and fish in WA.

This fact neither makes fishing with bait more or less enjoyable. It is simply a rule we must obey.

Re: Curlew and Perch

Bass will just get fatter, the Tigers grow faster, but it may hurt the trout eventually. Usually when a new species, like perch, takes off, they overpopulate, then the population crashes, then it stabilizes. The problem is that there is only so much "bio-mass" a lake can take. For every perch pound ...

Re: Help - New to Pullman, WA

I am out of pocket for a few days, but ........ I think that sounds like a great idea. Love to pass some of what I know about Rock before I may have to leave the state. I fear that I will be asking similar questions if I take a position in Leesville LA soon. :-k ](*,)

Re: Help - New to Pullman, WA

The Snake River near Pullman is loaded with SMB. I have caught good SMB from the Salmon River down to the Tidewater near the Ocean. LOL You even have great SMB in the Grande Rounde River, South and West of Clarkston, during the Summer. Just watch out for Rattle Snakes in the GR. If you are from MN, ...

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

My Lews is a good, but not great, baitcaster. I have other I like better. My Diawa are all great, as are all of my Shimano, both spinning and baitcasting. Keep in mind that there is no one reel for all people. What I like is not necessarily what someone else would like. All three of the reel brands ...

OK, I am not from that area, so I should not even be commenting, but ...... ](*,) Guys, the water is cleaner now then it was 35 years ago. Most pollution, like pesticides and herbicides or fertilizer, either wash out or break down from sun light and exposure. Some items, like human waste, break down...

Re: Bluegill/panfish

OK, I also should have asked about a boat, but I will assume you have some floatation ability if you fished Newman before. Let's start with the spawn for Bluegills . They are one of the few fish species in our area that can spawn more then once a year. Their first and primary spawn occurs when the w...

Re: Bluegill/panfish

Decent is a relative term. Can you provide specs? Is size the determining factor, and if so how big do you need? Is numbers the determining factor, and again, how many and how fast? You do not define panfish. Is perch in that definition? I would love to help, but ........ need a little more informat...

Re: fly fishing the spokane river

Don't tempt me!

Sure they were Cutts? Should be some Bows, lots of Red Bands (native Bow look alike), maybe some Browns, perhaps some SMB in the upper stretch.

Wish I had a drift boat, my boat won't work. :-"

Re: New Bass Fisher

Colors? You are so right about colors being depending on water conditions and local prey. If I had to prepare for a fishing trip and I had no idea where I was going, I would probably buy spinner baits in the 3/8 oz range (if you can cast that weight), with a single Colorado Blade (not always the bes...
