Martha Lake (AM) Crawfish
I've read some reports that state there are crawfish in here. Can anyone confirm? Where would be a good location to drop a pot? My wife's boss lives on the lake and says there aren't any and I've never seen any when I fish from his dock.

It'll be my first time ice fishing, so just wanted to be on top of it. From your reply I'm assuming it'll be safe to head out.zen leecher aka Bill W wrote:TeachingTitusToFish wrote:Can anyone give a report on Fish Lake? Thinking of heading out this weekend.
I hope you aren't worried the ice has thawed.

You picked a great year to move. Pinks return this year. Super easy salmon to catch... pretty much the only salmon we can still catch . Late summer into early fall. And like everyone else has said, you'll catch your fair share of trout. Welcome!

Re: Talapus and Olallie lakes
Sorry about the late reply just saw this. We do a yearly backpacking trip to those lakes and have fished both those numerous times and have done quite well, usually tossing roostertails or other spinners, my buddy tosses flies. Most fish are stunted in the 8-10" range. If you check out the map on th...

We went out a couple weeks ago in Hood Canal and used everything we had left over in the freezer. Razor clams, freezer burnt rock fish surf perch greenling and bull heads, fresh chicken, chicken that had been in the fridge a week and starting to go, pink carcasses from last year, week old coho carca...

Re: Squid?
We've been getting them since labor day, but heard people were catching decent amounts since late August. Haven't been out in a couple weeks. It's been on and off. One week would be really good, the next super slow. West Seattle was the best for us we'd limit in a few hours. Edmonds has been hit or ...

Tulalip Bubble Coho
So the Tulalip Bubble opened up for coho, this weekend and next weekend only. I'm not sure if I'll have access to a boat to get out. Can any of you tell me if there are any public beach areas I can float some herring from?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Westport Jetty Help!
I'm a master of that jetty. Search the forum for my posts, you'll figure it out. Lots of guys don't believe me until they fish with me, and then they believe. I believe there's an article in the article section still that I wrote a few years back. I got a bunch of hate mail from the locals on the j...

Re: Can I get some details how to fish lead line
So if the counter says I have 75ft out, can you give an estimate about how deep I would be? Also lets say I have 75ft of leaded line out, plus 15 ft of leader, would my line be 75 feet deep and 15 feet back? I recently picked up an Okuma reel with a line counter that was spooled with leaded line. Pr...

Re: Can I get some details how to fish lead line
I recently picked up an Okuma reel with a line counter that was spooled with leaded line. Probably a stupid question, but how do you set your line back from the boat if using leaded line? Lets say I want it set 75ft back from the boat, how much line do I need to let out without snagging the bottom?

Re: Red Rock Crabs?
Thanks for the info on reporting the pots as lost David! Hopefully, maybe they'll be returned. We dropped the pots just after 3pm, low tide was just before 3pm, so it should have been a slack right? After the ebb? There was a big tide change I believe the morning high was 8.5 and the low was -0.5.

Re: Red Rock Crabs?
We caught 4 limits of reds on Saturday out on Hood Canal. North of the bridge on the west side, off Point Hannon in about 40ft of water... No dungies (story to come), but other boats were saying dungies were in 60ft of water... Anyways, we pulled our pots and headed over to Salsbury boat launch to l...
