Re: Have had no luck. HELP
Herring about 4-5 feet under a float if you are fishing a beach with a good current. Also good are 2.5 chartreuse rotators with a pink squid skirt. Cast out and reel back fairly fast, don't jig it. Coho like to chase, a lot of hook ups will happen almost right at your feet. I reel back quickly enoug...

Re: Lake Goodwin closure
I haven't checked the launch status for a bit. Best bet is to call the Snohomish County parks. I typically stay off Goodwin mid July through September. October can be great fishing though.

Re: Need help finding fish in Big Lake, Skagit County.
Big lake is shallow, 20 feet around the NE end. Most of the lake is around 15 feet. This time of year warm water species, but once the water cools, there is a decent resident cutthroat population as well as a few landlocked coho (not that abundant) It actually fishes decent for the cuts late fall th...

Re: Fishing near Camano Island
Off some of the beaches can catch and release sea run cutthroat, or just toss some bait out as far as you can and catch flounder/sand dabs. The stilly is bad fishing, nothing really there. No real good bank fishing lakes nearby. A small boat, raft etc is great for lake ki which is close. Too shallow...

Re: WTB: Hobie Pro Angler Mirage 180 Kayak
I sent you a PM, I can check around for you for sure. Be careful, Hobie fishing is addicting. There is something about knowing that every part of catching a fish, you physically had a part in the entire process. It's definitely what I call active fishing!

Re: Big changes coming in regards to trout and kokanee fishing on Washington State lakes
The new Regs are out for July 1st 2018 through June 30th 2019. Kokanee limits for the most part have changed to 10 statewide and you Kokanee limit is separate almost everywhere from your trout limit. I think this is both good and bad. Good in that it should spread out the fishing pressure some lakes...

Also, Campbell doesnt have any real bank fishing access, can maybe fit 1 or 2 at the launch at best. If you have a boat, Campbell can be good, if not, Cranberry.

Re: Cranberry Lake???
Weed are more of a problem of you are in a boat trolling. Use 4-5 foot leader and floating bait off the shore. Dont fish the dock, there are a bunch of spots along the road to fish, better fishing and deeper water with fewer weeds than if you fish the dock.

Re: Cranberry Lake???
Cranberry has lots of spots along the north shore to fish, and a large dock on the east end. The dock can get busy with swimmers. As stated, the lake is weedy, so use 4-5 foot leader. I always used 3 chartreuse power eggs on a size 6 hook. 3 to keep it floating, and size 6 because they dont get comp...

Re: Trout Fishing
For cranberry lake, the dock isnt bad right near the park entrance. All along the north shore where the road runs right along the lake is a lot a good spots to fish. Also at the boat launch, a little trail goes off to the left and dumps out at quite a few spots to fish from the rocks. A few access s...

Re: No triploids? & very few "jumbo's"?
2 things I can think of, if the stocking plan for 2018 is accurate. 1st, triploids are usually purchased from private hatcheries, so that could be a funding issue. 2nd thing I can think of is since more lakes are going to be year round, maybe they are relying more on hold over fish? I know it shows ...

Re: Big changes coming in regards to trout and kokanee fishing on Washington State lakes
You can look at the individual lake to see if chumming will no longer be allowed. I just checked those lakes I fish and am familiar with, Goodwin, Steven's, and Cavanaugh, where chumming was allowed, but now will no longer be. As I was skipping by other lakes though it sure looked like chumming as a...

Re: Big changes coming in regards to trout and kokanee fishing on Washington State lakes
thanks for the link. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I love the separate limits, bt I am a little concerned with a few Western Wa. lakes that may receive some additional pressure, and frankly don't receive the stocking numbers of kokanee to possibly support increased pressure with ...

Big changes coming in regards to trout and kokanee fishing on Washington State lakes
The proposed rule changes look like they are going into effect July 1st when the new pamphlet comes out. 2 changes that stood out to me: 1) Trout and Kokanee limits on almost all lakes will now be separate, and almost all lakes will have a 10 kokanee limit. 2) Chumming on lakes that allowed it looks...

1) What qualifies as a panfish?
2) Did this go through?

Re: Lake Goodwin Boat Launch closing for the summer of 2018
I wonder if when it reopens they will change the hours from the 7-7 nonsense? I hate fishing that lake since the County took it over! It's almost as if they don't want boater's there at all. I imagine the fee to use the fancy new ramps will skyrocket as well.... We will see I guess. I know the coun...
