Re: Bass approach right now?
The other day 3 guys were bragging about catching 6 10" rainbows the day before, I walked to the other side of the point as they waded in and 3 monster bass cruised around the corner away from them. Idk if they even have a clue about the monsters that were 3 feet away from them. All fish for the lun...

Re: Wild Trout fishing methods?
Yeah if anything a wild fish has stronger instincts than a dumb trout and they hit more aggressively fearing missing a meal straight off any trigger. Spinners or spoons work great just be sure to bring a variety of either, as where u put it is more important than what it is. (So bring spoons that ru...

Re: Tomorrow, first light, where to go? -river options
We ended up at a lake spot, caught a couple bass but then spent the afternoon observing bluegill and smaller bass doing their thing. I crawled out on a fallen tree and had an aquarium like view of hundreds of fish. Family goes to (ugh) taidnapam next week so I might visit them and fish for a day som...

Re: Tomorrow, first light, where to go? -river options
No fishing at first light, flight cancelled when we arrived and replaced with flight direct to Denver @850 + 2hr bus ride so.... dunno if I'll even hit the water at the bass hole let alone drive south... I'm a little late for that

So we're dropping my sister off at the airport at 4am and then fishing. Just don't know where yet or for what.
If YOU were going out tomorrow am (as a bankie) where might you consider setting up shop?

Re: Just How Dumb Is It To Camp During July @ Potholes?
A mid July trip to potholes made some friends of mine swear off camping. Hornets, 105+ degrees, no fish... they spent the whole week at the bar by the boat launch and have gotten a cabin every trip since

Re: Camping At PotHoles
Dude they crop dust the state park when it happens at 5 am you'll know it. Best place to camp is the boat launch imo, less assholes, great shore fishing, no bugs, shelter from wind, lots of fishermen coming through, and it's free.
