RE:Newbie question about jigs

For jigs a higher quality rod with good sensitivity helps. And exposed blank at the cork dosen't hurt either. work em slow and watch your line.

RE:Openness

Large populations of bass are hard to find. If someone wants to protect that, they have the right to keep it a secret. I don't think any of the c&r guys are going out to lakes and harassing guys that want to eat fish. You pay for a liscence, and as long as its within the regs I dont think anyone wil...

RE:In search of a Float Tube ...

oh ya, if you can afford the extra dough. Go with a pontoon boat rather than a float tube. you have ores and you sit much higher in the water.

I always wear waders, as long as they are breathable. Having fins on your feet is a huge bonus.

RE:Openness

I will help out someone if they ask, but i too am leary of meat fisherman. Its hard enough to find a quality lake with large numbers of any size bass, largies or smallies. Everybody has to start somewhere tho, you cant possibly fish every lake just to see if it has a good population of bass. I use t...

Looking for a fishing partner or two northend

This kinda feels like a personal ad #-o I need some new fishing parters around the northend. My main partner in crime has most of his time consumed by his girl now. Leaving me to hunt for biguns on my own. The good news is I pretty much have his basstracker at my disposal for now, until he gives bas...

RE:G.Loomis IMX Casting Rod

If anyone is looking for a good spinnerbait rod. Its a good one. I keep my 782 rigged with 3/8 ounce spinnerbaits 100% of the time. It also works well with curly grubs and small cranks. Great rod!!

RE:senkos?

I don't fish senko's much anymore, but they did get me into my first 50 bass or so. I will fish them from time to time if nothing else is working or the bass are very lethargic. Besides texas and wacky rigging, I have caught many large bass fishing them like a fluke or jerkbait, quick twitch twitch ...

RE:Where do you shop online for bass gear?

I buy from tackle warehouse and basspro online. Its hard to find different cranks spinnerbaits and some terminal tackle locally. If you want plastics, rapalas and ewg worm hooks, there pretty much anywhere. As for local, I think sportco and three rivers has a pretty good selection; Wallmart and Joes...

RE:rods

I roll with Loomis. Weight, sensitivity, durability, and warranty are things I like about them. I dont think wallmart sells a bass specific rod. Gl2's and gl3's are just as affordable as and quantum or lami. I like that they make rods specific to types of fishing.

Not trying to rain on your parade but i'd guess low 4's. Great fish though. I like the idea of fish of the month. There should be one for cold water species as well. Big browns on the fly is another obsession
of mine :cyclops: Cant wait for the bass though, think about them every sunny day!!

RE:B A S S Lunker Club

It was a fish of a lifetime for sure. I know everyone exaggerates with weight if you dont have a scale, but that thing was massive, we were both shaking. Ive held my fair share in the 4 and 5 pound class and I really think this thing was over six. I think if its a trophy page, it shouldn't be date s...
