RE:Westside crappie near Gig Harbor?????

Ohop, Tanwax, Harts, Dolloff, Trout, Rapjon, and Kapowsin are all hot right now. The males are on beds and the females are just outside the spawning flats on each of these lakes. They will spawn this week so the next two weeks we will see some fast paced action. We nailed them pretty hard on Ohop th...

RE:Photos during spawn

Quick pic and release for me but to each his own of course. Guys should also be cafeful for other reasons. It's a FAT ticket if you're caught going over your legal possesion limit (1 smallie over 14" or 1 largemouth over 17"). You might be able to talk your way out of it but most gamies will assume ...

RE:Potholes and the Seeps

Nice job! Me and Y2Says will be there this coming weekend. The weather is looking great. SWEET...I'll be around too...for the wally gators! You guys are all going to have a heck of a time out there. The weather should be spot on. Goodluck. From what I was seeing, the walleye are stacking up in the ...

RE:Secret bass lakes

Also, not much of a secret as I've seen it discussed quite a bit and TNJ's had some success out there but Larson Lake by the blueberry farm...anyone catch any hogs out there? I've fished that lake years. Largest bass I've ever released there went 5lbs 4ozs. About four years ago I was fishing on the...

Potholes and the Seeps

We hit the lakes hard this weekend and the fishing was top notch. We caught fish in all stages of the spawn. Spotted lots of fish on beds and caught good numbers of fish that had already spawned. Tons of fish are still staging as well. To say the fishing was great would be a huge understatement. Pot...

RE:Yea it's tough!

I agree with most everthing said here. Really, I love fishing when the weather is like this because there are fewer boats on the water and the fish will be a little more willing to bite with less pressure on them. The fish are there and they have no choice but to eat. It's our job to figure out what...

RE:Cool Spring Weather

There are a ton of variables but for me it comes down to what body of water you are fishing and how those fish have adapted to their environment. On Lake Wa for example I’ve learned over the years that those fish rely more on the length of the days then they do the water temps as far as when they mo...

RE:The Spawn

They are on beds already on some of the shallow lakes. We fished a 150+ acre lake this weekend with an average depth of 9' and spotted plenty of fish on beds already with water temps at 56. Dez is on point though. Much more fun to back off and catch the big mamas out deeper. The first break outside ...

RE:"8" is enough!

Hey SlabKing! Have you been getting any yourself? I've only been out once this spring so far. I was supposed to be testing the boat out for the season but we spotted a few small schools so decided to fish for an hour or so lol. Caught 3 nice ones by drifting jigs under a slip float off a point on L...

RE:Steel Lake & Lk. Sawyer

Sawyer is an easy one....for real. Head straight across the lake from the boat launch and fish that entire cove with a jig under a float. Keep your boat as far away from the shore as you can. The water is clear and the crappies will spook. Also, if you head out from the launch you'll see a main lake...

RE:Larson or Phantom Lake crappie/bass fishing?

I've only fished Phantom from the public dock but have done well there for perch, crappie, and some nice largemouths. Try a 3" earthworm colored senko around the pads there for the bass. Everything else will eat a small 1/16th tube bait. On Larson the south shore seems to be best for the bass. You c...

RE:crappie in lake union and lake washington

I'll be hitting both lakes next weekend for the first time this season. The pattern is always the same most years. Fish the humps, pilings, or old docks that lead to spawning areas. They will also be setup on points that have cover on them (weeds, large rocks, wood, etc) that are near spawning areas...

RE:Lake WA Crappies (Pics)

Slab, are you fishing those tubes and jigs under a float, or just tossing and jigging? Fixed floats, slip floats, and tightlining. Just depends on how deep the fish are and if they are holding tight to cover. If they are hanging tight to cover I'll use a float if they are less than 7' down, any oth...

RE:Night fishing around Seward Park (Lake Washington)

There's a boat marina near Seward (right off Genesse and Lake Wa Blvd) that's loaded with cats. You can park right at the waters edge, cast your line out, and wait in the car until they start biting lol. There's also a point about half a block from there (you'll see the bench at the tip of it) that'...

Slabking: I don't have a boat , where can I go fish at in lake washington for crappies or any other lakes without a boat What color jig head do you use? RE:West side crappie

Ohop has been on fire for the past month or so. The spawn should be just about over now so I'd fish around deepest wood you can find along the north shore. They'll only be about two feet down from the surface. Sometimes they will be right at the surface feeding on the hatch if it's cloudy or close t...

http://www.southernpro.com/images/product_images/PCT/PCT03.jpg I like to use Southern Pro jigs but any small tube jig will work. All white seems to work best on Washington while a yellow body white tail works best on lake Union most days. http://www.southernpro.com/images/product_images/PCT/PCT04.j...

RE:Lake WA Crappies (Pics)

Yeah, they were all loaded with eggs. We did catch two up shallow that had spawned but all of the rest were in pre-spawn mode and hanging out in deeper water.
