jens, The Skeeters weren't so bad in mid July. A few at dusk but I didn't even have to use repellant. I was able to sleep comfortably in my boat under open skies for 3 nights and didn't pitch my tent due to the sprinklers. I've camped at both many times, most recently at the State Park in July. The State Park is by far better, with cleaner restrooms and lusher lawns and a more generally serene atmosphere, not to mention cheaper. The launch there is also better but bear in mind there is no dock to tie up to overnight. ...

I too, am looking for some place cooler to camp and fish at next week. Am considering Black Lake near Olympia,WA. I've read that the cutthroats should be out this time of year. Anyone with firsthand experience?
