Re: Sammamish River

So I live in a condo right next to the sammamish River, I can see it from my living room. Never tried fishing it. I'm aware that all fishing is selective gear rules and trout is catch and release. Anyone know why there's no salmon fishery here? I'm asking this because all of a sudden fish are jumpi...

Re: Help id this fish

Didn't know they went into Lake Stevens..maybe got lost or this one had the "exploration" gene.

Also, was it foul hooked? Looks like snag marks at the bottom.

Finding time

Age old question for people on this forum that seem to be fishing quite a bit more than me (envious!). I'm having a hard time finding more than 2-4 hours/week to fish mostly because of family and work. I get up at 5am to fish a couple hours before work once or twice a week, and sometimes leave work ...

Re: Lake Washington coho

Out of curiosity, what's the difference between a wiggle wart and a bass crankbait? They look the same to me.

Why are wiggle warts so popular with salmon?

Where are most of the Snoho humpies headed?

I'm wondering if the Snoqualmie near Duvall or Carnation would be a productive place to fish for them..

Pink Salmon taste

I went to Whistler with the family last week, and was able to put in a few hours at the Squamish (thanks jonb for the fantastic reports to encourage me to do the same!). The pinks were in THICK there, and very bright chrome to boot. There were at least a dozen literally within arms reach of my fishi...

Oh no, you said the "f" word. You started off the season here right. I'm waiting for the flamewar to start any day now.

I guess anything to piss off the salmon...may not work for trout.

Old pinned posts?

Perhaps this has been discussed before, and there might be a good reason, but why do we have persistent old pinned posts at the top? For example, http://www.northwestfishingreports.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14157" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and http://www.northwestfishingrepo...

Re: Skagit Sockeye vs Skykomish Steel

What was your setup? The easiest and cheapest way is to use the hootchie jigs (see my thread about the cheapest lure).

Also make sure you time it correctly...most of September should be good.

Hope you can catch some this year.

Re: Skagit Sockeye vs Skykomish Steel

Calling myself a piss poor salmon fisherman would be a compliment. I managed to go 2 pink salmon seasons, 20 days on the water and nothing but a bullhead to show for it. (hopefully this year i can get at lease one) But I refuse to give up, I have Friday morning to hit the water and feel like attemp...

But is this the cheapest? You'll need corky, hook, some yarn, weight, swivel. I can see all that < $1/setup, but will it really be the cheapest?

Re: Absolute cheapest humpy lure

Look on Ebay. You can buy large quantities of 3/8 oz jig heads and pink hoochies (separately), which in total will come out to less than $1 each. I just saw 50 jigs for $7. Find a similar amount of hoochies and you're looking at about .25/each. How do you tie on the pink hoochie skirts to the jig h...

Absolute cheapest humpy lure

What is the absolute cheapest humpy lure for rivers? I'm thinking < $1 per lure, if that's possible.
