Re: Marine Canvas

In Whatcom County, I'd recommend North Star upholstery. They are west of Ferndale a few miles from the 262 exit.

Re: Boating courtesy to land lubbers

You both will end up with a ticket. If you are less than 200 feet from shore, you have to slow down. Any one that casts more than 200 feet is doing great.

Re: Will purchase a small 4 stroke outboard. Need help!

I have a Merc. 9.9 I bought it new Sept. 2008. Runs great. start is easy as I have elect start. Run down the battery? Also has a pull cord. No winding a cord in the fly wheel. Wife too weak to tilt the motor? Power tilt makes it easy. Bad back? Even you can do it all. Starting this outboard is super...

Not new to the area, but don't know anything about walleye fishing. Are there any walleye on the west
side?

Re: Fishing etiquette question? Passing trollers/drifters

I believe you are legally responsible for your wake. If you swamp somebodies boat you can be held responsible for all monetary costs. If some body should die, you could be looking at jail time.
Obviously I'm not a lawyer. Maybe One will pipe up?

Flying carp, polluted water, and lots of invasive species? It's better here. fewer people and fewer boats in Washington.

BTW Everyone, reservations at the State Park start May 1st, which is a Sunday. The ranger told me over the phone that it would be highly unlikely for the park to be anywhere near filled. Coming in Friday it's first come, first served, and should be plenty of spots. I'm excited to try this venue and...

Relating to catching Kokanee.

Easy to relate to catching and not catching. When I'm catching, I feel like a pro. When I'm not catching, I am just happy to be on the lake.

Careful with those Large vents. If not done correctly, they may let in as much water as air.

Re: Trouble with 9.9 Honda, 2007

I've had the same problem with my 9.9 Merc 4 stroke. felt like a dummy as it was a closed vent on the tank. I've worked in outboards since 1967. Easy to forget. I only close my vent while towing in the rain.

Re: 5 horse on 16 foot John boat

I have a 16 ft. Lowe 1648mt flat bottom. For power I have a 9.9 Merc 4stroke Bigfoot. With lots of gear and 2 people, It does 12 mph. It was necessary to change props for high altitude. I've taken my boat through Deception Pass on 2 occasions. I've also hit big lakes with it.( Yellowstone and Banks)...

Re: NEW MEMBERS - INTRODUCE YOURSELF!

Hello, I've read this site for a few years. At the Washington Sportsman's Show I was asked why I didn't become a premium member on this site. I didn't have an answer. So at the prompting of Kokanee-Lou ( on the Kokanee Fishing Forum ) I will do it. I signed in here as rhodes19, But on the Kokanee FF...
