12 day fishing trip woo hoo
I posted this on another site but figured I would post here. OK guys. I have a tentative plan but figures that I would get some input from those that have been fishing a lot more than I have the last 10 months. Along with my very understanding wife and son I will be fishing 12 of the 15 days that I ...

RE:Spin-glo setup for plunking off the bank????
Check out the Northwest Sportsman magazine, May I think. They had a multi page article on plunking for steelhead including pictures. If you are fishing for salmon, just increase the size of the spin and glow

RE:Rod Suggestions
returnofthefish- remember that 30 lb braid is roughly equal to the diameter of 8 lb mono. So a rod rated for 20 lb mono should be able to handle it. As far as rod go, if you are trying to stay under $100 it is really hard to beat either the Berkely Air IM7(if you can find them) or IM8 rods or the WW...

RE:SCENT do they actually work?
Well I will start it off. I don't use any scents for warm water fish(bass, walleye, pan fish) generally. I will use scent sometimes for walleye, but not usually. For steelhead I like anise, sand shrimp or krill, in that order and really became a fan of Mike's glow anise last January above McNary dam...

RE:Seep Lakes Bass Fishing
This is total BS. Why can't Washington leave well enough alone? They seem to have a tendency to "manage" lakes into the ground. There are plenty of lakes that are managed for trout. Cold water lakes that the wimpy little trout can live in. Trout do not do well in lakes with 70 degree plus water temp...

Another meathod that I have used is to the bobbers that can be filled with water. Bobber stop, bobber, swivle, leader 2 hooks. Bait with sand shrimp(magic thread really helps) or or clam necks. Also be prepared to wade out in the water. The sweet spot to cast is the flat calm water between the 2nd a...

RE:Steelhead rod and reel size? Use for normal trout fishing?
If it helps, my combo is a 9'6" medium light Berkley IM8 with a Pfluger reel. Depending on sales and such you can get this combo for about $140. This combo works great for bobbers, drift rigs, spoons and small plugs

Anyone want to fish tomorrow?
Just like the title says, I am looking to fish tomorrow and the guys that I normally fish with are busy. I live in the Tri Cities but am willing to drive a little bit. I have an 18 foot boat that we can take and fish 3 out of comfortably. Kids ok too. I have gear to fish for just about anything arou...

Cat fish- Mouth of the Walla Walla river, Palouse Falls State Park on the Snake river, and most anywhere on the Yakima river
Bass- without a boat the best thing to do is float the Yakima in a float tube. This is one of the best ways to spend a summer evening.
PM for more info or specifics

I know it is a little way off, but scootney in May and June are almost a sure thing for walleye, but they seem to disappear in the hot months. It is a great place for a beginner to learn any technique for walleye
