Re: Say it isn't so, no Marine Area 8-1/8-2/9 blackmouth?
I think we have a bigger problem than tribal vs sportman. Seals and Sealions. Orcas, river conditions. Warm water blob. The list runs on.. like my sentences do. Considering the Columbia is expecting low returns. I have also read and heard that Oregon is expecting low returns... and Alaska is doing c...

Re: Say it isn't so, no Marine Area 8-1/8-2/9 blackmouth?
The way I'm reading 8-1, 8-2, and 9 over the winter blackmouth is that the season is pushed to Feb to April instead of opening in December. Remember 2 years ago they closed those areas because too many undersized fish were being caught. What is the season going to be for Area 10. I understand 9 is o...

Re: WDFW Underfunding
We all know how this one would go. They decide to raise license fees a certain group screams... I'm never buying a license again but will keep fishing... and no one can stop me.... and things would be better if they managed things better instead of. For those that don't go fishing they will whine ab...

Re: Limit vs area
I wish I could remember the entire conversation I had with a couple friends and a retired Game Warden. Discussion started in the area of I'm fishing area X in the Puget Sound and I catch a salmon. I then go into area y and I resume fishing. We asked any issues. Warden friend said no, not as long as ...

Re: Limit vs area
I believe the answer regarding the Puget sound was a resounding No you can not go into the other area (I assume 8-2) and try and get that second fish. If the wardens see you catch the first one in 9 and see you in 8-2 and you catch a second you might be in deep doo. If I recall correctly its similar...

Re: Puget Sound Coho regs for this season - clip vrs. unclipped...
Like Barchaser I will mostly be in 8-2 or 10 unless catching off the Edmonds pier. So far all my boat fish except 1 has been coho... in 10.

Re: Puget Sound Coho regs for this season - clip vrs. unclipped...
I noticed that as well and wondered how it would apply if I caught non-clipped in 8-2 or 10 and fish 9 for that last one and am pulled aside. I guess I could always take a picture of the fish and a picture of the location from my cell phone. Maybe if my gps current location is on with the phone... t...

Re: Lake Goodwin Boat Launch closing for the summer of 2018
I'm going to jump off the dock at Lake Goodwin and guess the reason they are doing it in the summer is weather related and going to almost for certain dry. My friend swears the lake has a second public launch on the lake but ... hopefully they finish it when they say they will and the lake temp drop...

Re: Low returns expected to restrict Washington's salmon fisheries
I have to agree that areas 8-1, 8-2, and 9 will likely not see a coho season for boaters like last year. It just makes it better for those that can fish from beaches or piers. Hopefully the numbers aren't so bad that one won't be able to fish from the beaches in 8-1, 8-2, and 9. Close the Snohomish ...

Re: Best Online Store For Fishing Gear?
Technically any goods the are purchased in another state that doesn't have a sales tax or a sales tax lower than Washington's is subject to a "use tax" for Washington state residents. Granted how many really do that. I was wondering who is the best online store as well since the number of fishing st...

Re: Reel Parts? Anyone know where to get them?
Sad but true part was. When I arrived I asked the person behind the counter "So.... uh..... how's business?" Person behind the counter says something like "We are getting killed by the online stores." Me: "Good thing I'm here then." Person behind Counter: "So how can I help you?" Me: "I need reel pa...

Re: Reel Parts? Anyone know where to get them?
I better give you the update as I found out the hard way back in July. John's Sporting Goods in Everett no longer carries reel parts. No reason was given so I had to go the manufacturers site and get the parts that way.

Re: Latest info not looking like sunshine and roses......
Pretty much everything reported yesterday as our Puget sound season was what I expected after hearing that while Coho numbers were likely to come back up a bit in 2017 (but not much)... the 2017 Pink numbers was not expected to be good and the fish will likely be on the smaller side. At least we wil...

Re: Spring Trout
The day the fish are planted the fishing (if you are close to where they were planted) will be really good. The next day not as much. The day after that... a little worse. Next day you might be lucky to find a fin (my experience). And not it's not because the lakes been fished out. The fish are adju...

John' s Sporting Goods up in Everett is the Reel support location in Washington for Shimano. I have used them in the past and get to send a few his direction again soon.

Re: Car tab renewal sticker shock
Remember people while you are dealing with Tab Renewal Fee shock... state is considering to replace gas tax or reduce gas tax and replace lost revenue with a "Road user charge", where you will be charged per mile rather than a gas tax. Gas tax is based on amount of fuel - and those with hybrid cars ...

Re: End of an Era

Fishing opportunities the past couple years has limited the amount of sales and nobody in his family wanted to take over the family business because of how slow busines...
