Saw multiple jumpers today and got a small one while fishing a beach on Whidbey.

Re: Even Year Snohomish Pinks

If you look at the saltwater creel reports, you cans see that there's been a few caught. Mostly up north, like Deception Pass and Bellingham Bay. http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/creel/puget/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: New toy for cohos

The Clarus line has a 10ft M rod, with a fast action. I bought a Convergence a few years back, and hated it. Check out the Cabela's Fish Eagle, which is on sale. I have the 10ft casting version, and it's worked well for both float and drift fishing. Cabela's Fish Eagle 2 is working great for me. Bo...

Re: best bet for shore fishing?

West side of Whidbey, like everyone else said, is your best bet. Fishing is still slow, but they're here. Not in good numbers, but they should be any day now. After 2 weeks of fishing daily at 5:30 in the morning, my first hook up was on Monday. 1 for 3 this week, which really isn't that good yet. G...

I saw the same. Wonder what they were going for? We were crabbing right in Crescent Harbor.

Re: August Coho

I wouldn't start hitting it until September. There might be fish in the system, but the numbers wouldn't be there yet. Stick to the beaches. I live on Whidbey Island and we don't really see a good push of fish until the 3rd week of August.

Re: Will Sockeye Re Open?

I hope they extend it. I talked to the creel checker guy yesterday and at the time said around 26 were caught just yesterday. This was around 4:40 when he came by and I around 6 fish caught yesterday for the 5 hours I was there, which has been the best out of the past 2 weeks. Everyone says that wdf...

Re: humpy derby

Biggest fish was 8.8 pounds. Or somewhere around 8. Some cool prizes given out too, like oneshot's lifetime access to Douglas Bar. But just about every where was a zoo for bank fishing. We were at Bob Heirman Park at 5:45 am and the parking lot was filled to the brim. Fish were everywhere but they w...

Re: Waiting for pinks...

Fort Casey would probably be your best bet as of now. The Skagit is producing fish but its still pretty slow, at least for me. If you're fishing Fort Casey, try to fish as far away from the ferry terminal as possible. If you go down the road there should be a park named "Driftwood Park". This is whe...

Re: Good bank fishing for pinks? Snoho or Stilly

Was on the Skagit today and only saw one fish caught. Plunked sand shrimp and dick nites on the incoming tide from 3:45 to 6:30 on the sand bar above the memorial hwy bridge. Btw holiday sports is out of live sand shrimp, if you're looking for any go down the road from the memorial hwy bridge going ...

Re: Good bank fishing for pinks? Snoho or Stilly

Took fishnfreaks advice and took my girls to the skagit. And damn is hot! My wife and daughter limeted out in two hours and lost probably five more. Not sure what the place is called but we crossed the bridge on memorial highway and fished just across from downtown. Plunking sand shrimp dy-no-mite!...

Re: Pink recipes??

Get about 3 or 4 cloves of minced garlic, a little bit of minced ginger, 6 or 7 tablespoons of brown sugar, and enough soy sauce to wet the sugar. Oh, and add a little lemon juice. Put fillet on foil, add all of that sauce on top, and let it sit in the fridge for an hour or two. Then put it on the ...

Re: Its Almost That Time

does anyone here catch pink and coho in the lower Skagit (like concrete down area) at the same time like in august or September and would those hoochie jigs work for both? I fish in the lower Skagit a lot. Mostly around Mt. Vernon. Over there, we mostly witch jigs, plunk sand shrimp on a spin-n-glo...

What was the other website? Btw WDFW is really slow with updating that thing, last year for my lake, I watched it get planted and it wasn't updated until 3 weeks later.
