Fall Musky Fishing
I haven't noticed many tiger anglers out this fall. Seems like the lakes are being ignored this fall and the only time I'm not fishing solo is when Muskieguy is in the boat with me. I don't mind, but folks are missing some good fishing. The boaters are gone and the jet ski's don't buzz around like n...

Re: Heading to curlew for tiger muskie
MG gave me a red and silver ducktail buck (one of three he had) a few years ago. It's my favorite by far and I think his too. I think the red/silver combo is underutilized, which is fine by me. Silver lake seems to be a place where purple gets noticed. I had a day trolling out there that was off the...

Re: Heading to curlew for tiger muskie
If there is a little chop on the water it's even better. MH; you and Muskieguy are the only people who throw big bulldawgs! MG was always using the springdawgs and the regular in sucker and LOTW perch. Did you corrupt him with those monsterous things? I know he has a huge box full of that stuff (hec...

Re: anyone heard anything about newman lake?
If you read my earlier reply; just use the last sentence to catch musky in Newman. I was shown this by Muskieguy, it really is the simplest way to do it. This time of year 10-15' will be fine in the AM and evening. Deeper in midday. I recall that big fish, the last time I saw, it was in MG's hands g...

Re: Heading to curlew for tiger muskie
It sounds like you had a good trip. One thing I would suggest; when getting follows without bites = change bait size. Up there if I get two or three follows without being hit I swap to another one of the three standard colors (firetiger, perch, rainbow) in a size smaller or bigger. If you have a par...

Re: anyone heard anything about newman lake?
I'll give you my two cents on Newman tigers for this time of year, in the mornings and evening: 6" Perch or Firetiger colored Jake's and Grandma's, white or orange belly color. Jerked and straight retrieve, fast. Jointed Rap in Perch or gold/black. Supershad in any color. Yellow, white or black spin...

Re: anyone heard anything about newman lake?
Well here's a little something about Newman from the Spokesman. The article claimed this is a 55" tiger. I am dubious of this claim, having handled several fish over 50" myself. I think they may have meant to say 45", which seems more reasonable. I could be mistaken of course as there are no perfect...

Re: Cd'a Pike
Mikey B; I think you will find Aj's Dad to be the man on this topic. His posts are really good. Here's another for the thump file. Heck of a fight I bet. I won't get down on anyone who catches the fish of a lifetime and decides to retain it (if legal to do so). But my heart would still ache a little...

Cd'a Pike
Looks like a fairly good start to the catch and club season on Coeur D'Alene. I know there are plenty of fish in the lake and all...but...
