Sage XP Flyrod
I have a brand new, never used Sage XP 10wt 9'0" in rod sock and tube. Rod has never used since I do not flyfish and have no real need for a 10 wt flyrod here in Northern Idaho anyway. I would like to get $325 or best offer. Since I live in North Idaho so driving it somewhere farther than Cheney is ...

Olympic Penninsula Vacation Trip Fishing
My family and myself will be staying around the Three Rivers resort area for the first half of my vacation, and then Sequim Bay for the second half. I realize that this probably isn't the correct place to ask about the lake or shore fishing on the ocean in the area, but i thought id just make one po...

Saltwater/Sturgeon Rod and Reel Setup
I would like to sell a fishing setup. It is a Hawk Striker trolling rod, with a Okuma Titus II W. The rod I bought in Australia. The reel is spooled with 250 yards of 80lb test, which should probably be replaced. It is a lever drag reel. I would like to get around $150 for it. I live in Coeur D Alen...

No Mica bay and creek are not closed the only two tributaries to Lake Coeur D Alene that are closed are Lake and Benewah Creeks and 100ft of the creek into the lake. I verified all this with Idaho Fish and Game.

Fishing Report: Mica Bay: 06-07-08
I went fishing on Mica Creek, the water was very high touching the bottom of the bridge i was on, caught 4 cutthroats up to 20in, although the 20in broke 4lb test and took off with my Thomas Bouyant. On another not was using a 1/6th oz Thomas Cyclone when a large fish decided to eat it, again on 4lb...

Fishing Report: Cocallala Lake: 5-26-08
My wife and I went out on a fishing excursion on Memorial Day, we fished Wolf Lodge Bay, and Beauty Bay at Coeur D Alene for pike, without any luck. So we left and headed up to Cocallala Lake as our last stop and caught three trout, but diddent get a photo of the last one as I actually caught it whi...

RE:Rod preference
The rod type i prefer depends on what im casting. I use a very heavy, stiff rod for throwing big swimbaits. I also have a lighter wippy for throwing topwaters and worms, almost everything else. I have a 10 ft medium stiffness rod for steelheading. And a ultralight for lures for trout. And a 8ft medi...

RE:Baitcaster reel vs. spinning reel... pole?
As far as baitcasting reels go. I dont know your price range, but for beginners Abu Garcia Ambassaduers run pretty cheep, but go up to Revo's which are excellent quality, but a little pricey. I personally run Shimano Reels which are expensive and have EXCELLENT quality. I use a Calcutta 100B, 400B, ...

RE:Fishing Report: Hayden Lake: 5-15-08
As for my rigs, I ran a Lambiglas Topwater Special with the Calcutta 100B, and a Bright yellow spinnerbait which is what I caught the fish on. The other rig is a Okuma Guide Series Swimbait Rod with a Curado 200 DHSV, I use that for swimbaits, the bass took a swipe at a 6 inch Castaic Swimbait, but ...

RE:Fishing Report: Fernan Lake: April 29th
I second what fish4brains said, if you catch a trophy let it go. I let all trophys, and wild trout go, to pass on their genes. And personally I only eat the planted trout. I may be missing out, but the abundance of trophy fish make up for that.

RE:Fishing Report: Fernan Lake: April 29th
For Crappies Ive found that Hayden Lake back at the Sportsmans park is a better bet than Fernan, plus the fish are a better quality fish. I hooked one that went 2+ lbs last year.
