Too high to float Bogachiel/Quilayute his weekend??

Well, the annual fall Forks trip with my 3 buddies is this weekend, and we were planning to float the bogey on Saturday, from Wilson's to Richwine in the one-man pontoons. Timing is pretty bad, as all this rain has the rivers up.. The hydrograph on the bogey is currently at 29.01 ft and rising, more...

cascade/upper skagit coho report?

Anybody been out and have a report? Heading to Rasar state park for a multi-family campout this weekend, and I was thinking about heading up to the Cascade/upper skagit area if they are in there yet. Otherwise I'll just stay close to Rasar and drift some eggs under a bobber right there. Most of the ...

Re: Downriggers and Shakers

Agree with The Quadfather. Case in point, I was out at Shilshole yesterday and saw an ever-so-slight nudge on the rod, didn't pay attention to it. About 20 minutes later my buddy's rod goes off and it's a nice coho. It started coming over to my side, so I decided to pull my line in so it didn't get ...

Tulalip bubble

Anyone been out to give it a shot since it opened? My coworker's brother texted him a pic of a pretty nice one he got today. Thought I'd check if anyone on here had been out there, thinking about going next week if I can pull it off.

Re: Breaking news: OPEN SEASON on Atlantic Salmon - is this real!?!?

Any of you who have figured out how to effectively catch these fish can do both fishermen and native salmon a favor by sharing your knowledge re: tackle and tactics. Thanks in advance. Exactly!! So far, I have heard power bait is the ticket. Also, report your catch to DFW, as Amx noted. A lot of th...

Re: Breaking news: OPEN SEASON on Atlantic Salmon - is this real!?!?

Well, I am seeing some gangbusters reports on the web, it looks like there are a lot more than 5000 fish. Is anyone on here catching them?? What are you using? Please share any information so that we can eradicate these fish and all have fun doing it.

I will be up there on Saturday in a 16' Hewes

Re: Breaking news: OPEN SEASON on Atlantic Salmon - is this real!?!?

DFW clarified the regs, see link. Saltwater areas must be open for salmon to fish for them, and freshwater areas must be open for trout or salmon. Also, it's not as much as of a fishing bonanza as the Seattle Times article made it sound like. The company estimates only 4000-5000 fish escaped (not al...

Re: Breaking news: OPEN SEASON on Atlantic Salmon - is this real!?!?

I was thinking about heading up in search of them too, when I saw that. Do everything and everybody a favor, by taking them out of the system. I would assume they are dumb hatchery fish and will stay schooled up, so once you find them it's game on. But I don't know. Haven't done a ton of research, b...

Re: Snohomish river

Pinks don't wait for rain like coho, the timing is mostly genetic. If they were waiting for rain they would be thick in the salt, and they are not. I hope I am wrong, but so far it looks like WDFW was right about the Pink run forecast. I got a pink last week in the salt, and the fish checker at shil...

Guide for Columbia sturgeon?

Hi, my coworker is looking to book a trip with his son sometime and asked if I knew any guides. I don't, only salmon/steelhead. Figured I'd ask for recomendations here.. It's hard to tell what the experience will be from a website - word of mouth is the best advertisement.. Over the years I've had s...
