Re: New boat flooring material
I would imagine the flooring is pretty good stuff, they've made quite a name for themselves in drift boating circles and are making their way into jetboats in a big way. The bottom coating is hugely tough stuff. I'm told by some folks that have had it done, it's much better than the old stand byes ...

New boat flooring material
http://dwnrvr.com/floors.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I called them today to inquire about their flooring. It sounds like some pretty awesome stuff. For them to install it in my 16' Hewescraft river runner it would be $975. That includes material, labor, and the finish coating....

Re: Lake Whatcom + Lake Samish
Just so everyone knows what the distribution is of the suspected AIS in question, here's a map put out by the USGS. This is one reason why these inspections are a bunch of BS. It's just another money grab perpetrated by fear mongers. http://nas.er.usgs.gov/taxgroup/mollusks/zebramussel/maps/current_...

Re: Lake Whatcom + Lake Samish
I drove by Lake Whatcom this afternoon to check out the damage. It looked like the only boats on the lake were bass boats from the tournament (probably due to the rain). There was an inspection station set up with four people manning it. They all looked like Biology students or something haha. They...

Re: Lake Whatcom + Lake Samish
Nice letter Mike! Here's an idea for a replacement program: Post signs at all the access points on the lakes addressing the hazards of AIS. Create locations for boaters to take their boats to have inspections done if they've taken their boat out of state or if a boater is from another state/country....

Re: Lake Whatcom + Lake Samish
I live in Whatcom county. This all started from the Bellingham City Council and their propensity for the "green" agenda. It's supposed to be about protecting the city's drinking water, which comes mostly from Lake Whatcom and Samish. I can understand that, who doesn't want clean water? The problem i...

Get ready for another fee to go fishing
Okay here's the short version: Bellingham City Council wants to keep A quatic I nvasive S pecies out of Lake Whatcom. (Understandable, but totally unenforceable without drastic measures) They come up with the idea to have mandatory boat inspections. (Great! But only on larger boats, not human powere...

Re: Summer Starry Flounder Advice
I'll be following this one as well. I've been doing some research on this topic and from what I've found it seems there are plenty of techniques that'll work. I've read that jigs work, minnows rigged drop shot style, even a slip sinker with a couple feet of leader. Bait that is supposed to work is c...

Re: RE:Memeorial Day Weekend?
I love that are of the state, so much opportunity! To bad you have to leave Whatcom Co. to get any opportunity. [cursing] So not true!!!! I lived in Bellingham for 6 years but recently relocated for a job in Snohomish. There are some great lakes and good seasons on the Nooksack and GREAT saltwater ...
