Re: Kokanee in Curlew Lake
I would say it was a trout. Never seen or heard of Kokanee in Curlew fishing it every summer for 20 years.
Trout and Kokanee can look similar but Kokanee have a forked tail and the trout usually have spots on the fins.
Unless someone bucketed some in.

Re: Anybody use Rebel crank baits?
Rebel is a decent brand, I've caught plenty of small bass on their craws. Like most inexpensive lures, the hooks aren't the greatest and may straighten out on a large fish and the paint might get beat up. Lure color that works will vary from day to day, lake to lake, weather, cover, fish mood, align...

Re: CARP! The official 2014 carp thread
I was always told that carp kicked up so much dirt and silt from the bottom that it smothered eggs of more desirable fish. I do know that WDFW actually put grass carp in some lakes to control vegetation.

Re: i-82 ponds
There are reports listed under I-82 ponds 1-7 separately and also listed just as I-82 ponds, there should be plenty of more recent reports.
They aren't bad, sometimes they are kinda dirty and crowded.

Re: I 82 ponds
They Just number the larger ones 1-7 in order from Yakima headed E/SE to Tricities. I Think it list exit number on the reports page. I think they all have trout except 5 & 7 are warmwater only. 5 & 6 have catfish, though I've never seen any in 5. Lotsa perch and pumpkinseeds in all the ponds, most h...

Re: Smokers vs. Non Smokers at a dock
By all means smoke if there is nothing prohibiting it. Though it can be an annoyance to non-smokers and some people have reactions similar to allergies. If you wanted to be polite, you might ask if it bothers anyone, it would give them the chance to either speak up or at least not fault you as you g...

Re: How to protect the paint on jigs from chipping?
I don't do a lot of river fishing but I have a bunch of Swarming Hornet lures that have awful paint. I took the hooks off and used 5-6 layers of Plastidip (Camo & Blaze colors) and it's held up very well, it doesn't really chip since it's basically rubber. Then I went on a plastidip spree that my wi...
