RE:McIntosh!
Last year they had a fish die off at McIntosh, most of the hold overs didn't make it. The deepest part of the lake is 11 feet and the water must have gotten pretty warm. Anyway, you probably won't catch many of decent size (hold overs). I have fished this lake for probably 15 years, and will be goin...

RE:How to mount rod holders to a fiberglass boat
I have been running fiberglass boats for years, and I have always drilled mine, to mount pole holders. You might want to put a little sylicone around the hole just to make sure it is sealed. The way I looked at it was that to mount a transponder for a fish finder, you have to drill two holes and scr...

RE:A Cool Place For Boaters
Hey guys! I found this site, which has nothing to do with fishing, but is all about boat ownership: http://www.theboaters.com/ From their website: We make boating more social. TheBoaters is a community for boat owners, crew, and boating enthusiasts. You can create a captain's profile, add a boat, s...

RE:Title/registration ?
A quick comment, I don't have a problem with the law, what I have a problem with is the lack of enforcement. If we don't have enforcement, what good is a law? In the past 7 years, I have not seen a game warden (sorry, showing my age) WDFW enforcement officer, on any of the waters that I use. To me t...

One way that might help, the WDFW, the last time I checked, has an ADOPT-A-LAUNCH program. Where a group or individual can adopt a launch site. This could be one way to help keep a small part clean.

About 10 years ago, when Curt Smitch was in the USFW out of Olympia, I saw an article on the back page of a National Geographic about a salmon farmer in Scotland that was having a problem with seals. He made a killer whale model (life size) and placed it by his net pens, and guess what, the seals le...

RE:opening day lakes
One of the problems I have heard about, is that you may know a lake by a local name and it may be recognized by WDFW by a different name. The way I check, is to use the " Washington Atlas and Gazetteer", this has worked for me, the names there are usually the same ones listed in the regs.

RE:The PowerBait Way
The main reason I use the ball and crawl method, is that the powerbait floats the worm, and that little devil dances on top of the ball. Normally I use a bullet weight with a round toothpick and have the bait floating about 18 inches off the bottom.

RE:The PowerBait Way
I haven't been on here in years, but I'm back now. It sure is great to see fishermen talking about powerbait in a positive way. I have been using the ball and crawl method for about 5 years and have caught numerous holdovers. Keep up the good work.
