Re: Kokanee lake wa
Any tips on where to go on Lake WA this time of year for kokes? Thinking about knocking the dust off the downriggers on Sunday. Some of my favorite Kokanee spots this time of year are just south of the i90 bridge and up by Kenmore. Focus on deeper water and look for suspended school of fish in 40-8...

Re: Lake Stevens tips?
Lake Stevens Bows can be very moody. I catch most of mine during the winter months trolling stick baits along the shorelines. During the Spring and Summer its mostly incidental catches while fishing for Kokanee. I do know my neighbor does okay fishing the point just outside the cove

Re: lake chelan get together
The State park has two docks that are for overnight mooring of boats. They are free with camping. Only thing is if the wind is right way it hammers on the boats. I split a fender tied up to it last year.

Lake Stevens Kokanee
Its time folks! The weather is warming, trees are regrowing their leaves, and the waters are warming. That means one thing around these parts. LAKE STEVENS KOKANEE!!! This is a very fast paced fishery with 10+ fish per hour being considered "normal." I am running weekday trips for $250 for the boat ...

Re: Lake Washington Cutthroat
Current studies are actually being done on the Lake. They started in 2014 and have been addressed at several fisheries meetings. Results have showed that several different stocks of fish move into the lake to feed and the lake itself has successful reds in almost every feeder creek. Cutthroat are an...

Re: Lake Washington Cutthroat
Only advice I'm willing to give is: Lake wash Cutts are an unsupported fishery, there are no hatcheries putting fish back in the system. Studies done on the rivers in the lower sound show less than 1000 breeding pairs on the 4 river systems studied. I think he was asking for fishing tips not a hist...

High Percentage Fishing- For Kokanee and Other Species
Tips For High percentage Kokanee Fishing Every year I find the Kokanee season begins earlier for me. This last year we began chasing Kokanee in December with great success on several eastern Washington Lakes. But the arrival of April means one thing, Kokanee season is here in full swing. Lakes like ...

Re: Lake chelan camping.
If i were you I would camp and launch at the state park. It is a nice facility and see's less ramp traffic then Millbay. And plugging the boat ramp shouldnt be a huge problem as long as you don't take a ton of time. Right outside of the cove near the state park can offer great fishing for Kokanee, M...

Re: Lake Stevens kokanee late February
For those little buggers the first thing I do is make my leaders a little longer, around 18 inches versus the 10-12" for April/May. I also like to use bait scents (Krill, Herring, Shrimp) and tend to shy away from Garlic and Anise. But the biggest trick is getting your gear away from the boat. Boats...

Re: Tribes release new news on COHO...
This is what North Of Falcon is really good at. Take last year into account. Water temps in the strait and off the coast were 6-10 degrees higher then normal. We had drought conditions in all of our rivers. And the Gulf of Alaska was consumed by a warm blob of water with no ocean upwelling which is ...

Re: Looking for a lever drag level wind reel
I know it's not the intended use, but.... are those charter specials usable for casting a buzz bomb off a saltwater beach? Looking for a level wind reel (for buzz bombing) whose internal parts won't fall apart from rust and corrosion after a season of use in the salt. You're not gonna be able to ca...

There is always people looking for ways to gain more knowledge while on the water, and hiring a guide is great way to do that! But lemme share some info with you. Guiding costs ALOT of money. You need to have multiple quality rods, lots of gear, and the ability to give people a great day on the wate...

Re: Lake Chelan koks
Try pulling you usual trout gear around the shallows of the lake. Down in town by Chelan can be a good spot. Chelan has some great trout fishing and some can be quite large! Just be sure to release any native cutthroat you catch.

one thing mike is with those stick weights it will be like tuning a plug for the current. Youll want to spend some time tuning the eye to keep them from swinging

Re: Abu Garcia C-7000 Levelwind Reel Vs. Warefare
If you are willing to spend the money on an Abu 7000 and plan to use it in salt, I'd suggest getting the Shimano Charter Special instead. Probably the most common and affordable lever drag reel sold for the past 20 years. The 1000 series reel will handle just about anything you'll find in these wat...
