Re: 2018 Pike Tally

I'm at one Pike for the year, for one trip :-"

When out couple weeks ago. I'm sure if I would put in more time, this number would get higher.

Re: Switch for parallel batteries

Thanks for the input Amx and hewesfisher. The first option I was originally looking at was Perko 8501DP Marine Battery Selector Switch; https://www.amazon.com/Perko-8501DP-Marine-Battery-Selector/dp/B00144B6AE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1526750564&sr=8-3&keywords=battery+marine+switch. Switch for parallel batteries

My current setup has two deep cycle 12 volt batteries, one is specifically for cranking(starting outboard) and the other standard deep cycle( for trolling motor), the are both same brand and same size and purchased about one year ago. One battery runs only the electric trolling 55# trolling motor, t...

Construction projects tend to get delays related to weather and other unforeseen factors, hopefully they will be done before freezing weather hits in the late fall. Any news if the construction company started working yet?

I don't have much time to comment on this subject right now, but I will soon. I can't wait to watch the fireworks that will certainly be created by this thread, on both sides of the story. AHHH it brings back memories of the debates on the gill netting genocide that took place on the POR. Let the g...

How far out can you walk. Usually around 35+ ft is where the "bigger" perch were at.

Downrigger Installation and Setup

Just purchased two "Big Jon Sports Pak Manual Siderigger"(downrigger) from Cabelas. I read that plastic downriggers get weak overtime so I purchased a set that will last. I'm fairly new to the trolling party in general and have never used a downrigger before, although I have watched some youtube vid...

Re: Installing USB charger and 12 volt outlet in boat

On the back of the 12v adapter it says the following "A13-142 12VDC/20A. So I'm assuming it's rate for 20amps. There are no instruction that came with the adapter. This website http://www.offroaders.com/tech/12-volt-wire-gauge-amps.htm has a chart titled "12 VOLT WIRE GAUGE VS. AMPS." So if max amp ...

Installing USB charger and 12 volt outlet in boat

I purchased a Dual USB Charger 5v 2.1/1 Amp & Power Socket Panel Mount Marine 12 Volt Outlet. It will get installed on the side of the dash by the steering wheel. The USB adapter will be used to charge cell phones and the 12 volt outlet will be used for a spot light. My boat has two 12 volt batterie...

Camped there over the Memorial day weekend. My traps only brought in 1 crawfish :( that trap had bread as bait. The fish carcasses had no success either. But we did managed to catch plenty by hand after dark with a flash light in the rocks at shore and at the reeds. :) If you cook them right they ar...

Here is what I'm showing if I use a browser that doesn't have ad block installed. The add are foreign(top left) and irrelevant to most of us such as fashion(right). I guess as long as the admins are making a few bucks to cover hosting costs, they are happy. ](*,)

Annual boat and outboard maintenance

Looking for some input from those that have had boats for a while. I use my boat for fishing year around including winter. What kind of maintenance work do you do on your boat and outboard motor, change oil, gas filter, etc. Is there maintenance work that should only be done only by a boat mechanic?...
