RE:Beaver Lake

I will probably head down Friday or Monday from Oak Harbor. I have taken a crack at these guys every year since I moved to Washington and I am glad that they are planting them a little earlier in the year this time. Last year I just about got frostbite in my feet fishing from my float tube, but I st...

Humboldt squid in Westport

Just wanted to let people know that there seems to be a bunch of humboldt squid in the Westport boat basin. I guess they are dying after spawning and there are so many the WDFW has lifted limits on them. I have gone fishing for these giants in Southern California and not only do they tast great and ...

RE:Topwater

Thanks for info. I really do have a problem waiting to feel the fish before I set the hook but I never have so much fun missing fish as I do fishing the top. One thing I have yet to try is following up a miss with a different bait like a worm, fluke, senko, etc. I have heard it can be deadly. Really...

Topwater

I am going to try Fazon in Whatcom county this evening and was wondering if anyone has had much luck with topwater yet this year. I had a ton of fun last year in August throwing a frog (mostly little guys but still a blast) and was hoping to try that again. I haven't read many reports of people thro...

RE:Baker River sockeye??

I was actually going to make a similar post because I am going to be hitting up the Baker on opening day too. I fished this season for the first time last year and didn't catch anything but this year is supposed to be a record run. I think it is pretty much a plunking thing with small sand shrimp. T...

RE:Snowpack and Mountain Lakes

I was thinking the same thing, at least late July. I remember last year I took a trip up to Anderson/Watson lakes (5000s) in late June and there was still a good amount of snow around. Last year was much milder than this year so I am sure I will be waiting a lot longer. All I know is I am really itc...

RE:Alpine Lakes suggestions?

I love lake 22. It is near Mt. Pilchuck and the hike is about 2 miles and not too steep, though it is a decent work out. It has to be one of the prettiest lakes I have ever seen and I caught a few fish. I don't think you can stay there over night though. Also, I hiked it sometime in early June last ...

RE:Has anyone fished Grandy?

Thanks for the replies guys, I had lost hope that anyone has fished there. I haven't had the opportunity to make it over there yet but I am glad to hear you have had some success, especially the recent success in April. I saw a report from a long time ago on this site after I made this post so I got...

RE:PICS from Conconully

I talked about it a little in my report but the funny thing about that bigger rainbow is that I got it fishing for bass with a 5" tube. I was pretty surprised when I saw it, also just couldn't keep it.

PICS from Conconully

Here are some pics from my trip to Conconully. I tried posting a couple to my report but somehow it didn't work and I am not sure how to add them after it has been posted.

Has anyone fished Grandy?

I was just looking at the stocking reports and saw Grandy Lake in Skagit county got some decent fish for its size. I am not quite sure where this lake is but I thought it might be worth checking out. I think I may have seen this lake on my way to hiking near Baker lake but I am not sure if its the s...

RE:favorite trolling lures

I love slow trolling a berkley trout worm. If I get a hit and miss it I can free spool and they will often come and pick it back up. Just remember they count as using bait.

Really appreciate all the info guys. I am looking forward to seeing that part of the state almost as much as the fishing. Will post a report when I get back. Thanks again.

Conconully help

My wife and I are planning to hit up Conconully for the opener and we have never been to that part of the state so I have a few questions. I was wondering how the weather usually is for camping this time of year? Also, if we aren't staying at one of the resorts can we still rent boats from them? Las...

I'm pretty sure those are pumpkinseeds. I think the crimson mark on the ear flap is an ID characteristic. Also the bars on blugill are a little more pronounced.

Great pics Rabbit, I went up to Fragrance after you made your report with my wife and dog. Here is a couple of pics of Lake 22 and one of watson lakes in Whatcom county. Sorry about the size and quality, still trying to figure out this interweb stuff.

RE:Releasing stockers.

Thanks for mentioning the part about scented or flavored plactics shad. I didn't realize that until reading it previously on this site. I read the regs and how they said bait but didn't read the definition of bait as I thought it was self explanatory. I had been using berkley power trout worms to CN...
