Re: 2-stroke motors, huh??
One thing I have not seen mentioned is the weight difference. 2-strokes weigh much less and that makes a huge difference for my little 12' fiberglass.

Re: Cleaning Fiberglass.
Trophy: Thank you for that. I had assumed it shouldn't be a concern if it was being recommended, but brands differ in strength, presumably and better to be safe than sorry. I'll go very easily (small area and not on long) to start.

I've heard to use basic toilet bowl cleaner and plan to try that.

Re: Recommendations GPS/fish finder
I have a Garmin53DV fishfinder that I bought about 2 years ago and I am very pleased with it. It has CHIRP, which I recommend for the added detail. I chose the lakes version of mapping and with GPS, it is exactly what I need. You show up to a lake and the contours of it are instantly there. Since oc...

Re: Decent beginner's baitcaster?
I wanted to try a baitcaster myself so last year bought an Abu Garcia Black Max, after doing a little research. I've been very happy with it , for what that's worth.

Re: Tackle Store
Well I haven't been there often, but have been really impressed with my limited experience: John's Sporting Goods in Everett Prices have been good for what I bought and everyone there seems very knowledgeable. Well worth a look. They have been around quite a while and it is just one of those great, ...

The way I originally did it was through Research, at the top.
Just now I did it through Research (Quick Links), the S, and I got a 404 as well!

Re: 404 Page
I just tried Research, Freshwater Lakes, S and got Sammamish, Silver and Samish, etc just fine. Maybe reload NWFR or your browser? I'm using Chrome for what that's worth.

Re: Tackle Store
It would help to know if you will be fishing from a boat or shore. Also, if a boat, will it be yours or will you frequently be on someone else's?

Re: Request for Prayers
So hard to read .. so much we take for granted. All we can do is be here for each other .. us for you, you for them. Words, while never enough, always come from a place where we all wish we could do more, if only we knew what, and how. Condolences for your daughter and her family, and for you and yo...

Re: Bassin @ potholes
My friends and I all motored South from there looking for walleye. We found and caught some, trolling bottom bouncers. The wind was bad and we were relatively new to walleye, so we didn't try any other presentations or species. We are headed east the 8th - 11th and were planning Banks and local lake...

Re: Bassin @ potholes
I have launched from that location once before, with 3 other boats. It is compacted sand beach. We were happy to be able to launch that far into the dunes, but a 4 wheel drive is absolutely necessary to get your boat back out unless it is a light aluminum one. Mine is a 12' fiberglass and I would no...

Re: Bassin @ potholes
For smallmouth, try the south end rock face, all along the road. Just be extremely careful for submerged rock in specific locations, very much depending on water level.

Re: Places to stay near Moses Lake
For what it is worth, a group of us regularly stay at the Shilo Inn, in Moses Lake when we go there for 4 day fishing trips. It's not top of the line, but is is well above bottom of the line. And I wouldn't hesitate to return there in the future. Our one hot summer trip, we found that the upper leve...

Re: The agony of losing "the big one."
Right or wrong, my take might be a little different others here. When I lose a fish, particularly a large one, yes my first thought is one of dismay. "Crap!", or "Damn!" might immediately follow, but very close behind that is, "Well good for you!", said with an honest smile. By default, a 7.50 lb ba...

Re: New to the area and looking to fish
Hey Sean, Welcome to the area. I live up in the north end of Kitsap and have just a 12' basic boat, but I fish locally with friends, often, mostly for rainbows these days. If you're up for 'nothing fancy', but just getting out and experiencing the area, I will keep you in mind next time I am headed ...

Re: American Lake(Pierce Co.)
I've been looking for posts on American as well, and have noticed the same. But to be fair, I think posting for almost everywhere has dropped off. My take is, fishing for the past couple of years has been significantly below what it was leading up to then, for most species. No idea why, though.

Re: NWFR app anyone
What sort of function or functions do you see this app providing? I usually view NWFR on my computer but sometimes use my phone and it seem s to work fine. How would an app be different? I'm not disagreeing, just curious as to what you are thinking.
