Good morning Mike, no problem. I have landscape shots, but no 'grip and grin' I can email them to you if you like, or DM them. Your choice.

Re: WDFW District 5, March 1, 2018 opening day prospects

Thanks Larry. Yes, it was a promotion. In 2017, due to budget issues, we only conducted our Walleye index netting on Banks Lake and FDR. We are analyzing our long-term data set to determine how often we need to sample our 5 major walleye waters. It's likely that we will go to a less frequent samplin...

Re: 2016 Fall Walleye Index Netting Report

We only surveyed Banks and FDR in 2017. I do not know if there will be a report written on these surveys but data will be available this February.

Re: 2014 Fall Walleye Index Netting Report

I am not the best person to speak on FDR Walleye. I recommend talking to Marc Divens in Region 1 as he is in charge of the FWIN surveys on FDR. I can only comment on population trends based on the data we collect, which is presented in the FWIN reports.

Re: 2013 Walleye Report now available

That is an excellent question. 300 Walleye gives us a lot of good data on growth, maturity, length frequency. But setting only 8 nets does not give us great data on CPUE (walleye per net). As your sample size increases your variance goes down. Variance is an indication of how precise your average is...

Re: 2013 Walleye Report now available

Guys, My pleasure. If I had to recommend ONE Walleye lake for 2015, however, I would send people to Moses Lake. We conducted the 2014 Moses Lake FWIN survey October 14–15. A total of eight FWIN nets were set throughout the lake and 512 Walleye were collected. The average Walleye CPUE in 2014 on Mose...

Re: 2013 Walleye Report now available

Walleye collected during FWIN on Banks Lake averaged nearly 15 inches in 2014. This was an increase from 2013 (14 inches) and was consistent with the long-term average. The majority of Walleye collected were in the 12–16 inch range (FIGURE 11), and were primarily age–2 fish (FIGURE 12). Only 17% of ...
