Re: Constitutionality of watercraft inspection stations
Well the Constitution established a government, so it's probably legal. That's one of the benefits of having an inflatable, no one can see it in my trunk.

Cuttbow or weird Rainbow
I caught this fish in Diablo lake last month in the north cascades. The spotting, or lack of spotting, sure looks like a cutthroat, but it has the pink stripe and no red marks on the throat. The other fish I caught there was obviously a rainbow. So which species is this? https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.f...

Short video of Baker River
I was back in Washington last month and trying my new gopro camera. Here is a short video of the Baker river. Didn't find any fish, but it gives you an idea of what it looks like if you haven't been there before: https://youtu.be/MnAepiiM6Xw

Texas Redfish
I knocked another fish off my list of species to catch while I'm living down here- Redfish. I believe the actual name is Red Drum, this is a salwater fish that they planted in 2 lakes near San Antonio and they have thrived in warm freshwater (the lakes are kept warm all year by power plant discharge...

More Texas Fishing Trips
This weekend I had two unusual catches. I caught a catfish on a spoon and then a sunfish on the spoon. Also hooked a pretty big catfish on the same lure that got away. https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/05/full-113185-95885-medina10.jpg https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/...

Big Bass
Bass are spawning or just finished spawning here in Texas. Last weekend I lucked out after reading about someone catching big fish at a lake a couple hours south of me. I caught 4 big ones, the biggest was at least 5 pounds, I think it was maybe 7 or 8, the biggest bass I've ever seen. https://texas...

Recent Texas Fishing Trips
I'm a Washingtonian living in Texas. This winter and spring have been great for bass fishing down here, at least for numbers if not for size. Since I'm a Washington trout fisherman I've been using spinners and spoons instead of bass worms and doing very well. When the water's not hot and the sun isn...

Re: Dolly Varden / Bull Trout
It should be mentioned that they look similar to lake trout, but lakers have forked tails.

Wow, I never would have thought they could survive that high so far north.

Highest Lakes with Bass in WA?
I have been wondering about this for a while. I'm out of state now, and been catching some bass down here in Texas, where the water is usually warm, if not hot. Our lakes are, of course, much cooler, so I am trying to figure out how high of a lake can bass survive in in WA. From what I can tell Alde...

Which Trout Species Reproduce Well in our Alpine Lakes?
So I have been thinking about this recently and threw together a list from my reading and experience. I couldn't find any info on whether Brown trout are able to reproduce in lakes like Cooper and Wenatchee (or is it Fish lake?), and I have never heard of Goldens spawning in WA, so I put them low on...

Are there any Alpine Lakes with Kokanee?
I have been wondering about this for years, because one time about ten years ago I caught a fish in a high lake in the North Cascades that looked like a Kokanee to me. I had been catching tons of 9 inch trout and then I caught this skinny, whitish fish with different shaped scales that was definitel...

Re: Favorite Trout Species For Eating
Bull Trout are good, but there's almost no place in Washington where it's legal to keep them anymore.
And yes brookies are good, but in my opinion you have to really know what you're doing to make trout enjoyable to eat.

Re: Lake Trout?
I've never heard of lake trout in Lake Washington, it seems like it would be too warm and low on oxygen these days with the warmer summers we've been having.
