RE:Eastside Ice...
Getting closer. How have those temps been over there? I know I've hit 29* a couple times now on the back porch. Any eastside winter/ice seasons predictions yet? It seems pretty cold to me so far.......(maybe a little dry lately too...:-" ) I had about a 1/4" skim on the dog dish the other night.......

RE:Eastside Ice...
Just a quick note, most of the Bass ponds around Ellensburg and Yakima are starting to get there first skin of winter ice on them. I myself can't wait for Elton Pond in Selah to freeze over solid so I can get some ice fishing in myself. This pond is only open from Dec. 1st - March 1st and has some b...

RE:Where to Go For Trout This Weekend?
I too, am looking for some place cooler to camp and fish at next week. Am considering Black Lake near Olympia,WA. I've read that the cutthroats should be out this time of year. Anyone with firsthand experience? If you're looking for a higher lake that doesn't see a whole lot of attention and has de...

Sorry, it wasn't Triploids, it was regular rainbows in the 8" to 14" size and the exact number according to WDFW is 25,700 regular Bow's. Like I said before, thats only 1 Lake, and yet in Yakima County no less!

RE:Fish Fry stocking in E.WA lakes
The triploid program isn't being dropped, just cut back. I tried to find what was in the e-mail, but can't locate it. I believe some/all of the state funding was cut off? I know WDFW cut back on the numbers of triploids stocked this year by about 25,000 over previous years. I'll do some more diggin...

RE:Catch Record Cards Due!!!!!!!!!
I sent mine in last month. Does anyone know what happens if you fail to submit a catch record card when summoned to do so? One of my better fishing buddies has no clue where his is, and I'm not sure what to tell him. I'm glad I put mine in with my license...when summoned, always respond :) KTK he/s...

Yeah, but at least there is one concilatory note. Clear Lake looks fairly decent. :money: My buddy was just up there on saturday and he said they were catching 16" kokes (fishing stories, not sure?). Yet we know that Clear is always good for bows and browns as well!!! Hope to run into you up there t...

RE:Has anyone been by Dog Lake this year?
Hey beerman, I was just up there 2 days ago and dog is still under about 6' of snow and ice. The campground is still closed and blocked off by all the snow, too. I was hoping that it would be fishable by Memorial Day, but it doesn't look too good for the home team. Which really sucks because thats w...

Thats why you take an auger or an axe. Drill or hack a hole in the ice and keep on fishing, just like we do here on the east side! Don't let a little ice and or snow scare you. Just make sure to take a buddy along, misery loves company!

RE:Landlocked Silvers?
Keechelus, Kachess, Lake Cle Elum, Rimrock, Bumping, and even Clear Lake all hold good populations of kokanee. like bearman says a wedding ring tipped with a maggot trolled slow at about 35-40 ft is perfect. They have very, very soft jaws, and will tear and rip easily, so set the hook very gently.
