Re: Lake Roosevelt yearly Boat Launch Permit
The whole system is set up poorly. Years ago I got a warning once because of the state/national mix up and it was my fault. I offered to pay the launch fee but the ranger said he couldn't take my money and I had to put it in the box but not to worry about it. [confused] I said it wasn't a problem an...

Re: Lake Roosevelt yearly Boat Launch Permit
Been buying the yearly for awhile now just for the convenience. Most of the time if we buy a 7 day pass we don't get back before it expires so the yearly actually works out better.

Re: Non Ethanol users?
It took quite a while for us to be able to get it over here on the dry side but that's all I run now in all my small engines. My lawn mower will now idle and I can actually get two more mowings on a tank. My air compressor engine would die when the compressor would kick in and now that runs fine wit...

Re: Abandoned Boat
Kind of wonder if it's stolen why so much stuff is left on it. The fish finder and other things seem to still be there but the license # is gone. Maybe they just needed the sparkplugs? Is there a plate on the trailer? DMV should be able to trace that too. BTW that's a 4 Cyl engine.

Re: Sprague Lake
tluedeke, agree 200%! I too have seen the immigrants hauling off buckets of fish and leaving a total mess of things. Also never could figure out how WDFW thought a 18' dishpan lake could support trout, at least ones you could eat. Same thing happened with our Pacific lake north of Odessa. They took ...

Skeeters at Roosevelt
Was planning a trip to the Spokane arm of Roosevelt (porcupine) and wondered if anyone had been there lately and if the skeeters were bad. Had heard on the news earlier that they were horrible at the campgrounds. I don't have much problem but my wife swells up bad. Thanks.

Re: Vinyl Window Cleaning
I've had good luck with Meguiars #10 and #17 Mirror Glaze polish and cleaner. Use #17 first to clean and remove fine scratches and then if needed #10 to polish. It's a little labor intensive but does a great job on pretty much any plastics like face shields, aircraft windshields, dash instrument len...

Re: Trolling motor thrust lbs?
I have an old Minn Kota 35 power drive on a 12' Columbia fiberglass tri hull and it shoves it around pretty good. I haven't used it in quite a few years but seem to remember it would pull it around at at least 3-4 mph. That was with two of us in it, 6 gal gas, anchor, and of course tackle. [biggrin]...

Re: Fuel line conections
Make sure you get one for your motor also. I know many of them look the same, ie Evinrude/Johnson, Yamaha but there's subtle differences like size of O-ring and plunger size. Metric VS Std. Napa used to handle them and they were cheap but you really had to watch out to get the right one.

Re: Kicker Motor problems, Mercury 8HP
Don't recall anyone suggesting to dump fuel on the ground. That's just plain stupid. I either burn it up in my pickup if it's not too bad or recycle it with my waste oil if it's gone over the edge. Hewsfisher, yes it's a pain to get non-E fuel and it is more expensive. I have take a drum over to Rit...

Re: Lowrance Depth Sounder Problem
Have you found out what the problem is? You might try starting the unit without the transducer hooked up just to see if it will boot. If it will boot try running it in simulator mode and see how that goes. I hate to say it but if it won't boot without the trans it may be toast. Had an old TV that di...

I was simply trying to tell the op how to prevent problems through preventive maintenance before it got to the extreme measures.

Sounds like either water in the gas or ethanol phase separation or both. If it's old gas drain and get new non ethanol. If you've never had ethanol gas then it's probably water. Simple things to do that help enjoy playtime: Always use fresh gas preferably non ethanol. Either filter your fuel and kee...

RE:New Basser needs suggestions on bait casting set ups
Another vote for the Quantum PT's here and I use mine for pretty much everything. On any reel dont be mislead with the max bearing claims. I checked the exploded views of many that claimed to have 8-10 bearing and couldnt find all of them. Kinda makes you wonder what they call a bearing. Biggest thi...

RE:Crappie jigs... how to fish??
We've always tipped them with a chunk of nitecrawler and jigged along the weedline. My wife uses a bobber and I'll drop one to the bottom and slowly work my way up jigging until I find the level their at. If your shorebound the bobber works well as you can cast out and let current or wind work it fo...

I am not familiar with your unit but MOST of the time the update goes in without affecting your settings or waypoints. Does your unit have a SD card slot that you can download your info to? I know some of them came with software that you could download your waypoints to your computer and research th...

RE:Roosevelt
Hi, I'm new here but have noticed alot of questions about river levels in the past. Here's a link that gives the level and there is another one there that also gives the min for the boat launches. Excuse me if this has been posted before but it's kinda handy if you have a long drive. By the looks of...
