fishing above lower granite dam
I'm planning on going down to fish for some early season steelhead at the confluence of the clearwater in the next couple weeks. Has anyone fished for walleye above the dam or for anything else just in case the steelhead aren't cooperating? I'll be camping at Chief Timothy park so I could head eithe...

Good info Bodo, Do colored hooks work better than silver? Also do the sockeye occupy the same water column as kings, do they hug the bottom? The bank fishing is a good question, I suppose you could plunk with a quick fish or maybe a spin and glow with a piece of shrimp on it. If you can find a spot ...

Columbia Sockeye
Does anyone out there fish the sockeye run on the columbia between McNary and Priest Rapids? I'd like to try for them but don't know what techniques or riggings to use. I've only fished for kings but seeing 100,000 fish right now in that area makes me want to try it out if the river comes down some....

Ocktane, do you have the 300? I'm thinking of putting it on my 8.5' med/fast action and using braid and using it for float/jig for steelhead and also for bottom bouncing/jigging for walleye. What would be the minimum size a guy could get away with, 100? 200? Brian
