Re: Halibut Charters
Just wanted to close the loop on this one, I booked us with Seiku Charters in late May. They've been really great to talk to so far both in email and on the phone. price is looking very fair and I'm looking forward to the trip!

Re: Halibut Charters
that's really good info. to be honest I think I'd prefer the shorter trip to the honey hole up north. we're coming from Gig Harbor so the drive is going to be nearly the same whether we go grays harbor or Seiku. close enough that it doesn't matter for a weekend trip.

Re: Halibut Charters
Thanks Mike, really appreciate that. Basically there are so many out there I was hoping to get the stamp of approval from an experienced member and your opinion obviously goes a long ways! I'll drop them both a line and see what they still have available this year. I hadn't even thought about going ...

Halibut Charters
Hey Guys, been a long time since I've been active around here so I honestly wasn't sure if this question was better off in off topic or saltwater discussion... feel free to move it though! :fish: I'm hoping to get out for a halibut trip this year with my GF's uncle. I've done a little googling and f...

KOA types
Do you guys know of some other campgrounds that are similar to the KOA setup? I was looking at the Winthrop KOA because it has the Kabins, pool, and super affordable, etc but the cabins with a bathroom are booked up during the weekends I was hoping to escape this summer. Mar Don used to be a favorit...

Re: west side guides for small kids
I've fished with Jeff 3 times. Twice I have taken my nephew who was 14 the first time, 15 this time, and he is the typical face in whatever gadget he has, hasn't even gotten his knees dirty from playing outside ever typical kid of today. Both times he grinned from ear to ear after fishing with Jeff...

Re: west side guides for small kids
Being 7, constant action might be good? If anyone this side is still doing Kokanee, that would be good. I think most have moved on though to the salt or rivers further south that can still be fished. I know Chelan Mackinaw can be about 2 fish an hour, more if your lucky. Darrell and Dad's I know ta...

west side guides for small kids
What's a good guide service for the under 10 crowd of kids? I have a 7r old who loves fishing and I'd love to get him in on a kid-aimed (or kid appropriate) guided trip since we dont currently have a boat or a lot of time for scouting. any suggestions? or should we just make the drive to Chelan? the...

Re: Mar Don with 7 yr old
Dude u want easy fish, cast out from the point at the wdfw launch across from mardon but before the state park. If the water hasn't dropped to the point the whole area is exposed the fishing there is literally nonstop for bass if u drag a senko in slow twitches oh man he would have loved that. we e...

Mar Don with 7 yr old
Lazy dad lost on time... I haven't been to Mar Don in 3-5 years. When I was there, we had minimal success from a boat and none from the shore. but when we ventured back into the potholes we found one lake that just kept handing out trout like candy. I can't remember which lake!! I'm currently withou...

Chelan suggestions?
thinking of taking my 6 year old to Chelan this weekend for some fishing. however, my downriggers are acting up so I dont want to chase the Mak's. manual riggers only so anything in the top 50ft of water or so would be ideal. I was thinking even if I could get him into some Koke's or rainbows it wou...

Re: Trolling Rod / Reel
I typically now require visitors on the boat to supply their own rods/reels. lolzen leecher aka Bill W wrote:There is a wrong way to release a line from a downrigger.
It will break rods.
