Re: Wild Fish Conservancy files suit over hatcheries
The sad truth is, the lawsuits are just taking advantage of the governments inability to move forward in a timely manner on the recovery studies and subsequent plans. Sighting lack of data and limited manpower they excuse the excessively long process rather then attempt to mitigate a solution. Furt...

Re: Downrigger rods?
Here's my take. I have used a 8-6 Ugly stick for the last 10 years with great success. This year I got a smoking deal on a Fetha Styx downrigger rod. I will not ever fish another ugly stick unless its the 8-20lb rated rods for Baker lake sockeye. The Fetha Styx rod is amazing! It loads up great, it'...

Re: guide service
http://wynoocheesteelhead.com/Home_Page.html I can't say enough about this guide. He lives on the OP. He is a 3rd generation guide. (His grandfather in his '70's is still rowing drift boats guiding people) When this guy, "Mike" was 14 y/o, his mother would drop him off at the river with a drift boa...

Re: Cascade Season Thread
if they were in there in any numbers the hatchery should have at least 50 by now though, the past high water should have brought some in though.[/Brat Bonker wrote:rcthepirate wrote:Also, if they haven't started trapping fish yet they'll have nothing to report. Doesn't mean the fish aren't there.

Re: Baker Lake
I have always launched at the lower dam, I am wondering whats the best launch for a 12ft boat in the upper end? I have some family headed up there in the morning and don't want to see them have to run the 7miles in a small boat, could be bad.

Re: Question on Cascade Opener
The Cascade was 12ft leaders and 1oz cannonballs, made me sick. Only a couple of us using eggs. A few guys with long leaders and bare hooks landed a few. I did not recognize any of the guys there as local Cascade guys. Very sad...very few fish as well.

Re: Cascade River
Couple of years back I watched him run twards a unsuspecting fisherman with a bayonet and then proceed to B1tch him out about trespassing. Not a pretty sight and it could have gotten really bad really quick. Luckily the fisherman kept his cool and left quietly. Sherrif was called and situation was d...

Re: Cascade River
Last year was one of those "banner" years for the Cascade. In my opinion the Cascade run of steelhead is usually not very big. If you look at the past several years the river has been shut down early because the hatchery could not get enough fish for egg take. I think last year was the first year in...

Re: Baker Lake Harsh Wardens
I'm just a regular Joe who gets tired of people not owning up for their actions. You didnt want to tag out, handed your buddy the rod and got a ticket. So be it. I am new to the site and sorry for the harsh first post, but darn it, I couldn't sit back and not comment. The post stuck in my craw and I...

Re: Baker Lake Harsh Wardens
"i fought the fish for the majority of the fight, and we marked it on my buddies card so i wouldnt have 3 fish limit on my card..." I don't know what your crying about? You said yourself ( see above quote) that you were trying to skirt the law by having your buddy tag your fish. I think you deserved...
