Re: Local stores for lure parts?
Sportco in Fife has a better selection than Outdoor Emporium, plus if you're headed there you can stop at Sportsman's Warehouse in Federal Way - they have some parts too, but stock can be iffy.

Re: Anyone know why there's dead fish at lake Washington?
I've seen a lot more perch floating since this was posted. Caught one at Coulon yesterday that had bloody spots on its belly and obvious parasites. Last year I fished around Stan Sayers/Seward Park after they sprayed for milfoil, but do not remember seeing so many floaters...still wondering what's u...

Re: Anyone know why there's dead fish at lake Washington?
The Sticklebacks die off and float everywhere when the temps get hot. The Perch just had a big spawn too. I'm guessing the majority of the dead fish were the 3" sticklebacks, which is totally normal.

+1 on the Coleman from Costco. Great value. I have 2 kids, and it handles our family easily and comfortably.

Re: Bulls on the Skagit System: Skagit, Sauk, Suiattle, Casc
My understanding is that they are Dollies in the rivers, Bull Trout in the lakes. I've hooked 2 Dollies fishing for Steelhead on the Wallace (only been 2 times)...They'll hit the same stuff. Dollies pull down and don't usually jump, so you can usually tell when you have one on the line, as Steelhead...

Re: CARP! The official 2014 carp thread
I agree, not enough pics in this thread. Here's one I caught last June @ Newman Lake. They are plentiful there, and you can 2-pole there! so set the Carp rig and fish for bass until you hear the clicker! FUN!

Yeah, the prices/selection are not impressive. Too bad. I'll still go to Limit Out & Sportco for my bass fishing needs.

Re: Crappie Search
I get 'em from the bank on Lake Wa. in warmer months, but it's not easy. I'd check the reports for Crappie specifically. I'd probably drive to the I-82 ponds and fish those. Jigmeister knows his crappie spots...maybe send him a pm.

Re: Missing Fisherman at Blackmans Lake
This really sucks. I saw so much of myself in his reports and really lived vicariously through them when I couldn't get out. The events that have occurred really had a "it could happen to me too" vibe, which has given me an even greater sense of caution for sure. I'm really thankful for that, but ve...

Re: Poaching Hotline Information
These guys are like 5 poles per person, plus who knows how many trotlines are still hanging off those docks. It was an interesting evening in Andrews Bay last night. I went "fishing" there @ noon to check out the operation and plot my evening strategy. As I was standing near their makeshift raft, so...

Re: Poaching Hotline Information
I'll be paying them a visit tonight...going to confirm they are still poaching & fill out a more detailed report/get ahold of a warden...gotta put a stop to it.

Re: Poaching Hotline Information
These guys are Asian. They stash a raft so they can get on the swim docks that are stored there over winter. They run up to 20 rods between 6-7 guys plus several trotlines hanging all over the dock. I'm guessing they catch most of their fish after dark because they stay there really late...past park...

Re: Poaching Hotline Information
Wow, they (poachers @ Seward Park) are still there after dark every night, saw them there Fri. night 9:30pm in pouring rain...one guy watching the parking lot. This is quite an operation. Why would someone stake out the parking lot unless he's getting paid? So they've fished from 5:00pm-10:00pm or l...

Re: Poaching Hotline Information
Good to know Nate. I was wondering because 2 years ago a warden checked me out when I was 2 miles down the trail @ the point in Seward park. I'm pretty sure someone saw me lobbing my fishfinder transponder (portable fishfinder thing) and then casting my lure and assumed I was 2-pole fishing, so repo...

Re: Poaching Hotline Information
I have also tried busting poachers via the hotline/911... the guys who are running 15+ lines off the swim docks in Seward Park. They did it all August/September. RE: the WDFW page - 911 operator said they had no idea what I was talking about, didn't even have WDFW phone number. A cop actually showed...

Re: FeelFree Moken/Lure 10 Kayaks
Hey Darren, That was me with the Moken @ the seminar. No local places to see 'em that I know of. I'd be happy to let you check out mine. I bought mine from Austin Kayak: http://www.austinkayak.com/products/2963/Feelfree-Moken-10-Angler-Kayak.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; PM me ...

Re: What just happened to kill the fishing on Lake Wa.?
I went out...lightning started just as I started casting, so I quit. Went out last night...much better weather/much better fishing action. Plus my 4 year-old caught 3 different species on the Princess rod. thanks again guys. I'm still not sure what happened. The minnow theory is totally possible, as...

Re: What just happened to kill the fishing on Lake Wa.?
Thanks guys. I thought I thoroughly covered the depths & cover options...but for whatever reason I was not as on top of my game as I had thought. The only way to figure it out any further is to fish more, so I'll be out there tonight hitting it again...which is just fine. I was perhaps getting too u...
