Re: Can anyone tell me about the Green River
Here's the report I just posted, I've been there Monday and Tuesday for the past two weeks. Green River. Anyone who knows me knows that I love the green river chum. We've been fishing it for the past week and it's been fantastic. The drift from Whitney down has been fantastic. There are a lot of chu...

Re: Can anyone tell me about the Green River
The drift is from whitney bridge to soos creek takeout. It's not very technical, aside from a few tight spots with fallen trees. There's one spot below the mouth of Burns creek this year that is particularly prickly. Find the slack water, edges with little current and you'll catch. Bobber and pink j...

Re: Rod building kit
Yea, the kits have the basics of what you need, if you want fancy stuff you buy separate. I built my first rod where I bought the blank seperate but had a kit for the guides, turned out great, still use the rod to this day. Looks kinda bad, but it fishes great.

Re: Skykomish High Bridge to Sultan? Safe in a pontoon?
Low water is worse than high water, it's real bony below 1500, I don't like my drift boat in those first two drops in low flows. Couple of other fun spots too, but in a toon it should be a piece of cake.

Re: Westport Jetty Help!
I'm a master of that jetty. Search the forum for my posts, you'll figure it out. Lots of guys don't believe me until they fish with me, and then they believe. I believe there's an article in the article section still that I wrote a few years back. I got a bunch of hate mail from the locals on the je...

Re: Watch what you say online - expose on treaty negotiation
Its definitely biased towards the tribes viewpoints, but thats how you would expect them to be isnt it? They are presenting themselves in the best light and from their point of view - the same most of us would do. The problem is, there is a lot of truth in that article to go along with the biased s...

Re: Westport Jetty
Went there two weeks ago. tangled with 5 big lings, but my brother stole our long handled net so none of them came home. Biggest was at least 15 lbs, that hurt. I wrote a piece about it a while back, it's on the articles section I believe. Came home with about 15 lbs of greenling perch and rockfish ...

Lots of small greenling and seabass. Use sandshrimp or nightcrawlers. Watch out for mud sharks, there are a bunch of them.

Re: Hatchery Salmon
I disagree with their assessments on many of the river systems. Carrying capacity is really controversial, and they can't agree on the methods with which we determine it. Historical carrying capacity in these systems and hundreds of thousands if not millions of fish 100 years ago or less. we have ha...

Re: Hatchery Salmon
Salmon like Chinook and Coho need to remain in freshwater for a year or so before even entering the salt. This is why the biologists need to control the number of fry released into any given ecosystem. As an example - if you had a river ecosystem that could support UP TO 1M fry / smolt salmon for a...

Yea, right by the pilchuck. Prime fishing spot too, it's pretty exciting. Won't really be able to fully use it until next year, but it's about time!

They are everywhere, and there are cohos too. The sky is pretty jet friendly right now btw.
Finding the biters has been the trick. The lower has more cohos in it too.

Because the river was closed for tribal netting.
