3/6/2020 4:06:03 PMEven if my license fees were twice what they are now I would still purchase them and feel that I'm getting my money's worth. I love fishing and being on the water. If you were to add up all the hours I spend fishing and divide the cost of the license by those hours I get to fish for about 20 cents an hour, a good deal if you ask me. Other activities cost a lot more for a days worth of recreation.
Evening at a concert: 100.00-500.00
Movie night: 20.00-30.00
A day at the museum: 10.00-50.00
Golf: 50.00-150.00
Sporting event: 150.00-500.00
Car races: 30.00-100.00
Anyway the point is; your fishing license is a bargin!

3/6/2020 5:53:30 PMHow can one of the largest landowners in the state be broke? Sell off some of your exorbitant holdings in the down years. Maybe some of that purchase money should have stayed in the coffers? Also shame on you for refusing to acknowledge the huge disparity between how far the commercial dollar penetrates into the economy versus the sports dollar, plus the link to who owns the resource versus who gets to exploit the resource.

3/6/2020 10:18:02 PMI love the privilege to fish every year and it is impressive how many lakes are well stocked for fishing. It would be nice to understand why there is a 26 mil shortfall. WDFW needs to balance their budget just like any other business.

3/7/2020 9:37:26 AMJohn's article, as usual, is spot on about Tucannon Lakes. Whether a lone sportsman out for a day or family camping weekend, it's been good. Loads of fun.
I've been testing the Mack's Promise Keeper's, like in the photo, a really good deeper running spinner, however I found the chartreuse better than white.
When young I thought a license was expensive, now not so much. It's a couple lures or tank of gas. It all adds up though. I stay close to home. I don't have an answer, it's kind of perspective based. I get way more meat and enjoyment out of having a license than the cost. Price on time outdoors with the son and grandkids?
