27th Annual Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show

The 2020 Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show will once again return to the HAPO Center in Pasco on January 17, 18 and 19. This is the first show if its kind in the Pacific Northwest and is the perfect place to bring the entire family to take in all the things to see and do at this popular event.
This is the 27th year of this annual show and it has become a favorite destination for everyone who enjoys the great outdoors. Each year, show promotor, Shuyler Productions, fills up the entire HAPO Center with quality exhibits, displays, and presentations selected to be enjoyed by the entire family.
This year’s event will feature A Walk on the Wild Side; the popular Outdoor Cooking Camp with chef, Richy Harrod; the Ascending Adventures 24’ high climbing wall; and the always awesome NW Big Game Display. New this year will be a wide variety of boats, campers, and vehicles located on the west side of the Arena.
A Walk on the Wild Side, a traveling wildlife exhibit and display from Hillsboro, Oregon, is coming to the 2020 Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show. This remarkable walk through animal attraction is geared for the entire family to enjoy. What you should expect to see is a close up of some of nature’s most amazing animals. Depending on availability, animals that will be at the show will include a tiger, cougar, bobcat, Canadian lynx, and other animals that are a part of this exhibit. During show hours, handlers will be on hand to explain and showcase each animal plus answer questions.

The Seminar Room at the 2020 Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show will be a very popular place all three days of the show with fishing and hunting experts sharing their knowledge during hourly presentations. This year’s fishing speakers include: walleye fishing expert and guide, Bryan Bell; bass fishing expert and tournament fisherman, Jeff Grimes; upper Columbia fishing guide, Jerrod Gibbons on Salmon fishing techniques; fishing guide, Austin Moser covering fishing Lake Roosevelt, Hanford Reach Salmon, sturgeon fishing, and Buoy 10 salmon.
Hunting speakers in the Seminar Room at this year’s show include: bird hunting expert from Red’s Hunting Adventures, Curtis Frisbie on chukar hunting on public land; Rocky Mountain Game Call pro-staffer, Cory Christman on elk calling techniques; and champion waterfowl caller, Abel Cortina sharing waterfowl hunting tips.
The Arena will have a different look this year with the new concrete floor and campers, boats, and new pickups filling up the west end. A Walk on the Wild Side will be laid out as a walk-through exhibit and the 24’ climbing wall will be set up for those wanting to test their climbing skills. The Colyak Bowhunters will once again set up the popular Kids’ Balloon Shoot and the free Crosman Air Rifle Range will teach young shooters how to correctly handle a rifle while shooting at paper targets. The ever exciting Lunker Lake will be full of hungry trout and manned by the Richland Rod and Gun Club. And remember, fishing is free for all kids on Sunday only, compliments of the Kennewick Sportsman’s Warehouse. Plus, back for the 20th year, the Outdoor Cooking Camp set up and hosted by Richy Harrod of Harrod’s Cookhouse Field to Table, will cook a different dish each day with several demonstrations throughout the show.

The 2020 Tour of NW Big Game animals returns to Room 4 at the show with an impressive display of northwest big game trophies which will include the new Washington State record archery mule deer buck taken in 2017 by Jake Fife. Also, if you were wondering what your animal would score, bring it to the show and have it measured and see how it ranks against the other entries in the Record Book for Washington Big Game Animals. This will be the last year entries can be entered into the 5th edition. The latest edition of the Record Book for Washington’s Big Game Animals as well as the current edition of the Record Book for Oregon Big Game Animals will be available for purchase at this year’s show.
Every day offers something for the kids to do at the show. Valley marine sponsors the Kids’ Korner located at the SE corner of the main Expo Hall and the Safari Club International is once again sponsoring the Kids’ Journal which will be available at the Main Entrance of the show.
Sunday is still Kids’ Day, sponsored by Sportsman’s Warehouse. Every kid, age 6-12 will be admitted to the show at a reduced admission and fishing will be free all day long on Sunday only at “Lunker Lake” compliments of Sportsman’s Warehouse. Other activities for the kids on Sunday will include cooking for kids at the Outdoor Cooking Camp, learning to tie a fly at the Columbia Basin Fly Casters’ booth, and a drawing for a free rod at HIS Rod Shop’s booth. Each child is also encouraged to enter at the Door Prize Drawing Table to win special prizes just for kids.

The 2020 Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show will offer something for the entire family to see and do and is the perfect place to start off the new year. Attendees will have a chance to save money on general admission and can also sign up for one of the many hourly door prizes given away all three days of the show. The Grand Door Prize this year is a $250 gift card from Sportsman’s Warehouse. A winner will be pulled on Sunday from all the entries from the three show days and you need not be present to win.
General admission is $11.00 for adults; and $6.00 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 years old are admitted free all three days of the show. Friday is Seniors’ Day when everyone 60 and older gets into the show for $6.00 and Sunday is Kids’ Day, where all kids ages 6-12 are admitted for $1.00 off the normal admission price, thanks to Kids’ Day sponsor, Sportsman’s Warehouse from Kennewick. The special return policy of pay the daily admission price once and return to the show free the rest of the weekend is very popular for those wanting to spend more than one day at the show. There is also a military discount of $1.00 off any admission any day with a military ID.
For those willing to come to the show early, a special prize will be handed out as you come through the doors on all three days. On Friday and Saturday, the first 150 adults will receive a goody bag from Grigg’s Sporting Goods of Pasco. On Sunday, the first 100 kids will receive special early bird prizes courtesy of the Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show and local donors. Show hours are Friday 1-7; Saturday 10-6; and Sunday 10-5.

This year’s show should have something for everyone and will be a great place to spend the weekend. So, no matter what the weather is doing outside, it will be warm inside the HAPO Center at the 2020 Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show.
