One of my dreams has been to fish the Columbia River for sturgeon. I got that opportunity recently when I went out with Louis McMinds, owner of EZ Marine. Louis holds the patent on a remarkable device which allows you to pull an anchor (or shrimp/crab pot) up with the power of your boat’s motor. No pulling by hand. More importantly, the system he has devised increases your safety on big water such as the Columbia River when anchoring up.

The system worked flawlessly and Louse reports that compared to cheaper plastic variations on the market, his pull system has a much longer life cycle and low failure incident. And trust me, you don’t want anchor failures when on the Columbia River! I was so impressed that I will be getting this system for my boats. It’s that good.
