These two lakes are located about five miles east of Applegate Reservoir and just north of Squaw Creek Road. Big Squaw covers about 50 acres and Little Squaw is about 12 acres and located just south of Big Squaw, which is also referred to as Squaw Lake. Both lakes usually offer fair fishing for planted rainbow trout and native cutthroats and also contain good populations of brown bullheads and black crappies and fair populations of largemouth bass and bluegills. Big Squaw supposedly produced a state record post-spawn largemouth bass in 1996 that measured 27 1/2 inches long and weighed 12 pounds five ounces, but for some reason was never authenticated as an official state record.
