This five acre lake is located just west of Highway 101 about two miles north of where Tahkenitch Creek flows beneath Highway 101. Receives heavy plants of trout and also has fair populations of largemouth bass and yellow perch. The perch average small, but some of the bass are lunkers. There is a private home on the southeast end of the lake, but the entire north end of the lake is accessible for shore anglers and has a trail. The narrow pond just north of Perkins has a population of small largemouth bass that were almost completely overlooked - until it dried up in 2001. Low water levels in 2001 and 2002 limited the number of trout stocked into the lake, but the bass and yellow perch easily survived the drought conditions. Almost all of the fishing pressure on this small lake consists of bank anglers baitfishing and float tube anglers flyfishing for planted trout. P Heley
