This four acre lake is located just inside the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area and is best reached by taking Highway 199 to Selma and then turning right on Eight Dollar Mountain Road. Eight Dollar Mountain Road starts out as CR5240 and then becomes FR4201. Then take a spur road to within one mile of the lake. Babyfoot Lake has long been a brook trout lake, receiving regular brook trout plants until recently. Largemouth bass have recently become established in the lake and bass to six pounds have been taken. A float tube is a big advantage when fishing this lake. Situated at an elevation of about 4,000 feet, don’t count on fishing this lake before early June. Would seem to be an ideal complement to those fishing Selmac Lake since it becomes accessible about the same time that Selmac slows down. P Heley
