Mason County’s Isabella Lake is located about a mile south of the town of Shelton. It covers 208 surface acres, reaches depths of about 23 feet and lies at an elevation of 150 feet. Fish species include rainbow and cutthroat trout, largemouth bass, yellow perch, brown bullhead catfish and some large squawfish. Some of the bass are big too. Prime bass habitat includes overhanging brush and trees, lots of pad fields, old logs and wood in the water, a few old pilings and some private docks.
Public access is provided by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. The large access area has plenty of parking space, pit toilets and a very good concrete plank boat launching area.
