Celilo Lake is a huge reservoir on the Columbia River created by the Dalles Dam. It covers about 11,200 surface acres of which 51 percent are in Oregon and the other 49 percent are in Washington. Several boat launches provide access to the reservoir. The best launch may be the nice concrete launch at Mary Hill State Park. It has docks and lots of parking space for tow vehicles and trailers. There is a fee for launching at the park. The reservoir contains almost all the fresh water species of fish in the state including steelhead, salmon, sturgeon, largemouth and smallmouth bass and walleye. Bob Johansen
