After a strong 2 hour hike into Blanca we were rewarded with great views and even greater fishing. Numerous 8" to 10" trout were biting small dark roostertail spinners, a few flies, and small spoons. We fished the outlet stream and the runoff stream at the head of the lake and had good luck at both locations. Runoff from the Columbia glacier fed two small streams one clear one not so clear. The prior was filled with dark Rainbows biting on size 18 Adams and Mosquitoes. Fish this stream at the huge boulder just up from the mouth. Very few bugs. Wonderful wildflowers: lupine, heather, daisies, and columbine. Very little snow. Have a great time! Tony Robinson
