Located in Whatcom County above Baker Lake, in the Noisy-Diobsud Wilderness area. This lake is very close to Anderson Lake, and is often found in the guidebooks and Anderson-Watson Lakes. This is a bit of a misnomer as these are two distinct lakes, about 1.5 miles apart. Additionally, there are two bodies of water to Watson, separated by a small inlet between the two lakes. These are snow fed lakes at approximately 4500' and the snow banks run right down to the water. We encountered large chunks of ice (as big as a car) in both lakes, and the water was cold. This lake is perhaps the most beautiful high lake I've ever seen. Before I completely make this a travel log, I'll just quickly say that I didn't do too well with my trouting. In fact, I got skunked. I have heard of large rainbows in Watson, but I didn't encounter any on my trip. Watson is not a rough hike and is definitely good float tube/raft country. Cliff
