This 957 acre lake is located about three miles southwest of Howard Prairie Reservoir. Hyatt Prairie Road runs along the north and west sides of the lake. Hyatt has long offered good fishing for good-sized rainbows and largemouth bass. A treatment in 1989 was intented to eliminate the bass and especially a growing population of small brown bullheads. The lake now produces rainbows of large average size and the lake has a reputation for producing lots of small largemouth bass. But a few of the largemouths hooked in the lake have been huge and there were persistent rumors of biologists sampling the lake in 2006 encountering a
largemouth bass that would have easily topped the current state record. A very few crappies reside in the lake along with lots of brown bullheads.
