This 140 acre lake is located about four miles east of Sutherlin and is heavily planted with
rainbow trout, but offers fair fishing for a number of spiny ray species. Averaging only about six feet deep with a maximum depth of about 12 feet, Plat "I" is capable of producing big largemouth bass, brown bullheads, black crappies and bluegills. A one pound 12-ounce bluegill was landed in 1996 and a few years later, a dead bass washed up on shore that weighed around 11 pounds. The east side of the lake seems to offer the better bass fishing and more visible structure, but the warmwater species seem rather tough to catch. Plat āIā gets drawn down drastically each winter.
